But I was stuck at flipping back and forth between Level 19/20 in ranked battles with my Atlanta and decided WTH. Went from down two stars at level 20 into 1 star into level 17 fairly easily. I got into it with trepidation because I heard it had gotten the nerf bat, yet I cap areas and deny them to enemy DD's usually sinking at least one DD each match and picking off weak CL's and occasionally ambush torping a BB. So what gives? Doesn't make sense I could do so poorly in DD's in CBT in general and then hop in this for the first time in ranked battles and do well. The reason you are doing so well is because the Atlanta is so bad at ranked battles. It's too soft and it doesn't have the range to compete. Are you using the stock 5.5k torps or the 9.2k ones? I use the 9.2k ones and go for stealth torping. With the smaller teams, a single torpedo hit or simply forcing an enemy to maneuver out of position has a much greater effect than in random battles. Will give a try even though they are speed nerfed big time.

Use them on a wide setting to force ships to maneuver and also get the occasional hit. Forcing a ship to turn away from a cap can be the thing that wins a battle. In Ranked battles you need to focus on the caps. Run camo point to get the detectability down a bit.

For some REALLY odd reason, I've started to almost seal club in my sims. D: I mean, ffs, the only reason I really bought that ship was to get CBT access, and I used to suck at DDs! Now I've gone and bought myself the Wickes and have been cleaning house with it! D: wth is wrong with me!? On the other hand, I'm also seal clubbing in my Derpitz. Gawd I love that sexy ship.
