Shell swapping and only firing one turret?

So, I Have noticed that sometimes when I switch between shell types, wait for them to load, and then fire a broadside... Sometimes only one single turret fires. Even though every turret begins to reload again as though all rifles had shot.

It does not happen every time, but it happens enough that I am starting to notice it.

Is it only me?

clicking once fires a single turret, double clicking fires all, and holding down fires a broadside one turret at a time.

A lot of times this is because of ripple fire, not every turret is reloaded by the time you fire. Or, if you made a turret correction, the other guns are still aligning to the target when you fire. hence you only get 1, or a few shells instead of all.

Start over

It is not possible for your guns collectively to hold the 2 different types of shells.

Therefore when you make the switch with a single click all available guns that can hit the target will shoot on the next firing to clear the breeches.  The others do something mysterious....

When you double click you unload all guns and reload.

What he is talking about is having  AP loaded and then soft switching to HE (tapping 1 once) on next reload.  Usually all the shots go off and you reload the next set.  Like someone mentioned sometimes the guns aren't aligned perfectly so it will only shoot one shot.  This is why I usually fire my whole salvo then manually reload to a different shell type.  This might add half a second to reload times, but is more reliable.

Yup once you gain some familiarity with it, the ship and tactics it's pretty easy to alternate without losing time and shells.

Plus say if your in a BB shooting HE at the other BB the first time might be wise, you just might trick him into thinking your a noob, and cause him to be less cautious.

Switch when your making a big turn for a crude example.  You only have 1 or 2 guns in bow that shoot anyways.

If you have the other type of ammunition selected but not loaded you fire all available guns and reload all of them. I have found that since there is a very slight delay between the firing of each turret even when fired at the same time. This makes for a slight delay in their loading and if you fire too quickly you only fire the first gun/turret. To avoid this make sure all of your guns are loaded by waiting a moment before firing.

Exactly in the very center  just above your consumables are little horizontal lines with timers indicating individual gun or torp reload time.

I realize fully they are extremely hard to see in 1440p, so I can appreciate not noticing them for a thousand battles until someone pointed them out.

That's a really cool avatar picture you have OP.
