But I miss CVs in high-tier matches (VIII+).

 

You rarely see them anymore - I've seen a few Lex when I'm in my Cleveland, but playing my NC and Iowa, there's nothing - it's nice when I'm in my Tirpitz as it's lack of AA isn't a problem anymore.

 

But man...  One of the advantages of a US BB is it's AA.  With no CVs, it's like you're bringing a less-useful ship to the fight.

 

Really wish WG would figure their siht out and fix these CVs so people will play them.

US BB's have them big guns do. They do fine regardless of whether or not they're bristling with AA

I thought they were fixed and that's why people aren't playing them because they aren't stupidly broken and are only kinda broken powerful now. I forget what CV players are complaining about now.

If CVs aren't changed, the class above tier 7 is dead. Already many high tier CV players have sold them.

You're kinda missing the point...

 

You say you want a knife that has a blade, a file and a canopener. 

 

You then find out you don't need the canopener because all your meals are in plastic bags.

 

That space the canopener takes up could have been used for something more useful, like a second blade or a fire starter.

My AA guns feel lonely =[. especially with all dem upgrades and its like rip no planes to shoot down. 

 

though ever since the patch ive been getting really bad AA rng even with 98 AA rating and its making me pull my hair out because that never uset to happen.

I don't. The game is actually fun without having to dodge basically undodagble TBs, and destroyers are actually relevant these days. And far more people play DDs than CVs.

Biggest thing they could do to fix carriers that I can see is fix the power creep from tier to tier. There should be early to prewar planes (Bi-Planes) for tier 4 and 5, Next 3 tiers early to mid war planes (First model Zeros, Wild Cats, etc) little faster, little tougher, do more damage, then last 2 tiers late war planes, buff them up again a little, but mostly the main advantage a higher tier Cv should have is just more planes then it's predecessors and a faster more capable ship. This would I think also allow for a easier, fixed AA mechanic to be implemented that doesn't have to deal with the present nightmare or being OP or UP.

When you think about the aircraft and the armament they used, it makes sense that they'd not do much more damage than the previous tier - same with TBs and DBs.

 

A 500lb bomb is a 500lb bomb no matter what plane is carrying it.  Same with torps - which are smaller than their ship-borne cousins.  Finally, standard armament for USN fighters was the .50cal - the only real difference was the number they carried.  They shouldn't have that much difference between an F6F and an F4U - both mounted 6x .50cal.

 

I'm with you - the only thing that should really change for CVs damage-wise is the number of planes at their disposal to do it and the effectiveness of their own AA suite.

They should have fixed it from the beginning. Make more planes in the air, but much less damage. More action, more fun, but no stupid one shot mechanic.
