I honestly wish the only change they would have made to the CO was to lower the dispersion. That's it

Make her the USN baby Nagato and life would have been good.

Not quite the buffs I'd hoped for, but alright, I'm up to see if this works too.

Still frustrated that the US "brawler" style is accompanied with a ship with terrible hp and that secondaries are so much worse than IJN. Seems like IJN has all these decisive advantages for long distance combat, but then you get close (or not, since they're faster) and... they get the better secondaries too!? And their Tier X heals more and takes less torp damage too?

Honestly, I have been doing OK in my Colorado.... something like a 50% win rate in it and 1.6 or 1.7 KDR in it. 80k or so damage per game. I geuss the buff will only make it better.

I don't understand why you would lie like this? Its not like we can't easily see your stats instantly your average damage is 49k. lol

What is your secret? Are you willing to share any tips? :)

I am not doing nearly so well in mine...

I try angling, I try brawling, I tried to snipe???

Secondaries have a 6.2km range and yet cant hit squat at 2km....

Not that I am a great player.. Average is about the word I would use...

But I just can not find the right "technique" with this ship...

Between this buff and the Colorado losing tier X matches. The Colorado might actually become a pretty good all around ship. The U.S. BB line got a hell of a lot better, ill tell you that

OH Sorry I didn't flip tabs and look it up, but my last few games in it have been right around 80k damage. Sorry again didn't mean to offend. But I am doing better in it then my Tripitz really. I wont compare it to my Nagato though, yesterday I played 4 games in it with over 1.5k xp and over 75k damage a game (I will state it that way to try and not offend people). Honestly I Think it is much better then it was the last time I ground through it.

Secrets for it, not really sure I can say. Get between 8km and 10km, fire AP except against DD, learn to slow down or speed up to throw off the enemy's aim.

The gun rotation is a typo.  4 radians per second is really, fast.  Destroyer fast.  No, it has to be radians per minute.

It should be 4 radians per minute = 45 seconds to make a 180 degree rotation.  With the 2nd level captain skill that adds 0.7 radians per minute, then the guns can flip around in only 40 seconds.

BTW, the current rotation speed of Colorado's is 60 seconds, which is all the pot smoking people from that state can handle until they sober up sometime in October.

Tone could be...interesting. She can't be worse than Ishizuchi.

I like the Ishizuchi.  That statement of yours makes me think you don't understand that Ishizuchi is a battlecruiser, and you should avoid battleships with it.  Use it for it's intended design to hunt down and kill lighter ships.  Hell, I even go after destroyers with mine and do pretty well, in particular if they're dumb enough to take the bait and chase me.

Here you go. Anyways, I love battlecruisers with their attendant disadvantages, the Itchy's is just a bad combination that puts you at the mercy of your team to start an engagement in a lot of situations, unlike Kongo or even Myogi who can initiate at better ranges.

Colorado never really had a turret turn rate issue. Its horrendous dispersion is what makes it a teeth-pulling experience to play in.

Aim the front turret to 12 o'clock at 4km range.... fire. Watch the shells fly 45 degrees apart from each other the moment they leave the barrel. It does it 3 out of 4 times you fire.

Last night I had an Amagi in my sights..perfect flat broadside shot on it at a mere 6km range... aimed halfway between the waterline and the deck, gave it 3 seconds for guns to stabilize (vertical movement)  and fired. All shells went into the water short of the Amagi. It's THAT bad.

I would gladly take a 45 second reload time if they made the guns as accurate as the New Mexico or the North Carolina's.

In any case, I finished the ship last night and got the NC... my suffering is over.

Looking forward to the buffed Colorado and hopefully this will make the grind less infuriating; however, we still need a few more buffs for her, mainly with her health pool and dispersion at both medium and short range.

I still don't understand why they don't fix the HP issue its beyond me that WG left this ship as is since CBT.

Probably because Colorado in game doesn't get all of her modernizations while Nagato does. Stock they have the same HP, which relates to them having the same displacement at launch. Nagato gets her modernizations, Colorado can only dream of the West Virginia modernization. A West Virginia refit is more of a tier 7.5 ship though. They could just go "screw it" and change HP like they did with South Carolina, though that may have been a case of South Carolina not getting same hp/displacement as other ships. (I'm assuming the West Virginia rebuild has a larger displacement as iirc she became wider than the Panama Canal and had extensive equipment added)

Nice buffs, still not enough. Still needs more HP and quite frankly, WV hull.

While a buff is a buff, the buffs to Colorado in the patch notes do not rectify her glaring issues.

1.  Awful accuracy with typical BB dispersal and fewer guns than New Mexico is an awful combination.  The ROF and turret traverse was not an issue to me.  Nagato's guns are infinitely more useful.

2.  The worst speed of any ship for Tier VII.  Considering she fights up to Tier IX, that sucks.  She fights more lethal, faster ships while still retaining speed fit for a Tier IV BB.

3.  A Colorado with her hull upgrades sits at about 51k hull.  Same tiered IJN counterpart, Nagato, sits at 65k.

Even with the buffs, it fails to fix what are, IMO, her main issues.  With the buffs, she is still a ship not fit to fight at the Tier VII-IX portion in the game.  New Mexico deserves being a Tier VII ship than Colorado.
