Just had a match where whole team went due south, opponent slipped 4, yes four, ships around into cap and were halfway to fast ez win before the 2 cv's could even get a plane in to spot them.

 

Well, the Tenryu and Omaha in the cap got greedy. They went after our cv's that were trailing fleet. Leaving the cap reset it to only about 10% and gave our fleet and the surviving cv time to pop the 2 who followed and stayed in cap (St. Louis and Arky Beta). Well, that's now 4 of obviously their faster, smarter ships gone, so the rest of the enemy died rather quickly.

 

We finished by capping while a lone DD tried to evade till time ran out. We got the bonus xp of part of their earnings instead of them getting some xp off us.

 

Moral of the story: Don't be greedy, take the win. Get my xp before I get yours.

Win rate is utterly meaningless. I'll take a high earning kick butt loss over a crap win ANY day. Nothing is more frustrating than having your first win bonus wasted by a bunch of scrubs who rush cap without firing a single shot.

So maybe tomorrow you get that 1st win bonus then eh? Bad streak of "scrubs" matched with you and you miss entire day of bonus.

Win rate isn't meaningless but it also isn't everything but over the long run winning matches will earn you more in both credits and experience. Yes, you will have some low payout wins but that is much better than the low payout losses because the enemy took the fast win instead of farming.

This is about fast unopposed capping not the stupid running in too soon and getting hammered type.

Sometimes it better to avoid the risk and take it the safe path.

Always take the win.  Don't listen to the lemmings that run away from the enemy for 1/2 the fight, and end up in a corner away from everything.  They are just upset because they never got a chance to exploit you, which is their only viable strategy.

Always play the correct way i.e.: take the win. There will be games where making sure you cap early and continuously will be the difference between wing and losing.

there is something more frustrating.

 

not being able to get that  first win because every game has a scrub like you in it who is selfish and doesnt play for a team win.
