Upgraded, I need some help

About the time of 4.1 upgrade, I got my new Hiryo and directly went to the 222 mode. After that it seemed to be a hard time for me dealing with all sorts of crap. I had an average of 10k damage, but now it's even hard for me to get 5 torps in (and of course even worse they suck so much compared to that of DD). 

 

1. My fighters suck. I always put them right there together to finish enemy fighters and defense my teammates by hanging them around some cruisers or battleships in the battlefront. But my fighters always get badly murdered by some USN planes. I wonder if I need the 312 mode to do the thing (though I'm not a big fan of defense, what's it all for playing IJN CV), or there's some strategy problem or little tips I have to keep a mind on. I need some advice. 

 

2. My attack planes fly happily to the enemy, not Clev, not anything like that, and before I drop the torps, they are mysteriously gone, and I found them serving at the bottom at the screen. I did the normal thing, I avoid attacking a lined up AA, I did not stay at the place where I attack. However, I'm not familiar with the AA system on the ships I'm attacking. Can anybody explain how the AA work and how CV players can work to circumvent them and perform attacks effectively. (It's very sad when you travel all the way to the enemy and find all your planes shot down). 

 

3. My torps started to stop working. I feel like as I enter this staged, not sure because of the upgrade or the tier, my torps are suiciding in the frond, killed by AAs and planes from CL and BB, not able to get attack to be efficient. I tried crossing my torps, I tried alt, but I found out that because of the AA and enemy planes they hardly worked. Is there any technique or things I should avoid when choosing my target and trying to get torps in them. 

 

4. When it come to 6 squads, I found it hard to control them. I am playing the game constantly pressing M and try to manage everything well, 50% of the attack I am using alt to make sure they are efficient. But now I've got the fighters and I'm not quite sure how to use them with my attacking squads. Any advice on how to control the squads and how to place and time your fighters with other squads to maximize your hit points and best protect your teammates? 

 

I am very frustrated playing CV this few days and I think somewhere and somehow I did something wrong.

Though I don't play CVs, I've seen some tactics being used by other CV players.  For example, try not to launch your squad of planes near a huge group of ships, who may potentially have really good AA and shoot down 1/4-1/2 of your planes; try to find 1-2 isolated ships, then torpedo/ bomb/ etc. them.  In that situation, less fighters and torp planes will get shot down and have a better chance of deploying the torpedoes/bombs, as there are less AAs.  Lastly, it helps to watch YouTubers playing CVs and seeing what tactics they employ, so you can impove on your current tactics.  Hoped this helped... at least a little. :P

10k it not very good for a Hiryu using the 2x2x2 loadout, so there's your orginal problem. I can usually pull more than 10k with my bogue using the fighter loadout...

The OP's average damage per battle is 40,000 in the Hiryu, not 10,000 as he posted (maybe he meant 10,000 in one attack by his bombers).  In any case your point is still valid since the average damage per battle for a Hiryu is 60,000 as shown in WARSHIPSTATS.

Which means most of that is from dot :sceptic: OP I don't really know what to say but some sort of change has happened. Like what they did when the changed how planes attack slightly it used to be after they dropped payload they would immediately be controllable and would start heading back to the CV now you have to wait as they pull a 180 and fly out of the circle before you can give them orders. AA seems to have changed slightly as-well but I can't say to much on that.
