WoWS Release and Weekend Special...

Since it is commonly known that the 1.5x for Thursday changes to 2x on Friday without reset(meaning if you want Friday 2x, dont play on Thursday).. should I even play the game during the first day of its release?

Next Thursday is when WoWS releases so... that may be the first weekend with a 3x experience daily or more special.

If I play my ships during the first day of release(Thursday), aren't I spoiling a day of a potentially high value weekend special?

Excuse me... what?

If you play on Thursday, then you won't get a 2x Daily on Friday.

Or did WG fix this reset issue?

Cite your sources please. What did you come by this information?

When playing in previous weeks if I played on Thursday, I wouldn't get a 2x on Friday. I'm sure others have experienced this which is why some people don't play on Thursdays because of the reset.

The OP is referencing a way to take advantage of the fact that currently the daily reset for your first game multipliler happens at 7pm Central, but the multiplier itself changes at about 2am Central. Therefore. if you know what (if any) the multipier bonus is going to be, you can get an 'extra' set by saving the previous days 'first games' until after the 2am change, but before the 7pm reset.

No, that's for WoT. For WoWS, if you win on Thursday, you won't get a special daily on Friday. Well, yeah you're right actually.

Look at the bigger picture. It's not gonna make a huge difference if you use up your first win or not. You make a whole lot more playing more battles than holding off waiting to use your x3 or whatever.

What he should have said "if you play Thursday evening after reset you miss out on exp bonuses that could start early Friday morning".  If you already got a 1.5 on a ship Thursday evening after the reset you don't get 2x on that ship until after the reset Friday evening.    If you don't play or get those 1.5s after reset Thursday evening then they could turn into 2xs before Friday's reset in the evening.

What the poor fella is trying to say is that If you dont do your daily doubles after Reset on thusday at 8PM EST, 7PM CST, 6PM PST the after the daily changes that happen at 7 AM EST, 6 AM CST, 5 AM PST then after the daily changes if you do your doubles now you get an Extra 2x or 3x instead of the usual 1.5x .

So for example if it was going on for 3 days you get it for Thursday Friday Saturday and Sunday (which is 4 times cause its 4 days ) instead of doing it only Friday Saturday Sunday ( which is 3 times for 3 days )

If you play both days you get 3.5X. If you do not play Thursday to save it for 2X, you loose the 1.5X all together just to get 2X. You will get 3 2X's regardless when you play them. In your way of thinking, you just loose 1.5X. And it does not get you 4 2X's.

Wrong. If you stop playing before the reset Thursday evening, at 0200 Friday morning the 1.5x turns into 2.0x (or whatever the multiplier is). Then you get 2.0x Friday morning, then 2.0 after 1900 Friday evening  same for Saturday, and Sunday evenings. So 2 games at 2.0x on Friday and then 1 Saturday and 1 Sunday to give you a total of 4 wins at 2.0x exp. If you play after the reset Thursday evening, and don't wait for the "weekend" that starts at 0200 Friday morning you get 1 1.5x win and 3 2.0x wins.

Yes this is stupid these need to be synced together. Why isn't the time just like WoT where everything resets at the same time? I believe this is a issue in WoWP also.

I am so confused now....

Take this weekend for example.  I won in my North Carolina last night and got a 1.5x first win of the day multiplier.

But I did not play my Mahan until today, and my first win on it had the 2x multiplier.  So if I had waited until today to win in my North Carolina I would have gotten a 2x rather than 1.5x multiplier.

Both will be reset to 2x later today, so that's how you can "lose out" because of the timing.

Since resets are on a Russian time, in the US if you win later on a Thursday night. You won't get the x2 (or whatever) bonus on Friday. Since to the system you've already played and won on a Friday even though it was your Thursday night.

Is the game such a chore that you want to give up playing on Thursday so you won't have to play as much to get to what you want? If you don't like the game why play at all?  If you do like the game then why not play whenever you can?

In other words play like a gamer, not an accountant.

You can play Thursday, just not after 1900 central time.

For some of us, that means not playing at all. My real point though is: if this is a question of optimizing game economy, why spend energy on it - just play the game or don't.  If this is a question of how to do the arithmetic to optimize the game economy, then don't play the game - go back to school and learn to do arithmetic.

"x2 XP First Win Bonus     Starts Friday, September 11, 04:20 PT / 07:20 ET       Ends Sunday, September 13, 04:20 PT / 07:20 ET"

I guess Sunday isn't on the weekend anymore??      :(

You assume that figuring out optimizations isn't fun.

But are you really optimising by not playing after a certain time? Playing a game or two when you "shouldn't" should more than make up for an extra 0.5x on one game.

I guess it all depends if your "optimising" is about playing fewer games, or getting somewhere quicker....

I don't really get it either. If I don't play when I otherwise would, I have to find something else to do. To me, gaining a few hundred extra XP per ship isn't worth having to do something else when I'd rather float boats. If I enjoy the something else better than boats, I would do it instead of playing anyway.
