Seeing as the WWII RP has ended, I thought it might be worthwhile starting a new RP to fill the void.

Countries:

Austria-Hungary: El_Judarino

Brazil: Windhover

Britain: Fog_Cruiser_Repulse

Bulgaria: tankV

China: Zetacious

France: lordvader5999

Germany: Wake

Italy: GeneralPatton1000

Japan: Wunderwaffe

Ottoman Empire: starship

Russia: Canadian

USA: uzushiohashashin

If those all end up being taken more can be added.

I have numbers for the Naval and Ground Forces, but not the Air Forces.

Map will come soonTM

First come first served basis, if not enough people are interested I'm afraid it'll be stillborn.

Never having played any such form game before (this game has beautifully shredded all my hard work at being a life-time forum lurker), I'm curious as to what playing would entail? Time commitments, rules, etc?

I could be interested. Specifically in Austria-Hungary (or anyone else, WW1 is fascinating) but I guess I'd need to know "how to play".

Pretty much in the same vein as the previous ones.

e.g. http://forum.worldofwarships.com/index.php?/topic/9209-world-war-2-roleplay-gameplay-thread/

More specifics will come out when there are enough players.

It's essentially a turn by turn grand strategy game, you would order stuff to be done for your nation, and if you get into wars you fight it out, no pre-determined alliances, this is just a very brief explanation, for more information, you best look through the other World War or Space related roleplays

I'm interested, just don't know if I would have the time to play, just put me down for Japan for the time being...

Also any tech cap or starting time? What about pre-war disputes would they all effect possible alliances, or does everyone start fresh? Would there be a limit to how long a cease fire would last for at the start? would you throw NPC countries at us if we stay neutral for too long?

Also, I've been thinking of a new way to run the turns, everyone has a week to write up and submit their turn, and the moderator has the weekend to sort the turns and actions out, thus it keeps the game at a constant pace and no one would have an excuse that they couldn't get their turn in.

Each turn is 3 months and the first turn starts on the 1st July 1914. Tech Limit is the end of 1919. If it lives for long enough I'll extend that to 1930.

There will be no resent alliances, but long-standing agreements will have an affect. e.g. Franco-Prussian war, Anglo-Portuguese alliance on the popularity of policies.

3-5 turns, depending on how it goes.

would you throw NPC countries at us if we stay neutral for too long?

Thats for me to know and you to find out.

That sounds reasonable enough, we'll try it if enough people don't have an objections to it.

I would be interested in participating. However, since I don't know how much time I can commit. Maybe a less significant power like the Ottoman Empire or maybe even a South American country like Brazil.

Well just let me know which, and I'll find the numbers and add you to the list.

I have been reading up on the Ottoman Empire and they were a much bigger mess than I care to deal with in the RP. So I think Brazil would be a good option for me.

I cannot find any numbers for Brazils Army before the war. Wikipedia says that the Army was enlarged to 54,000 when Brazil entered the war so 15 to 20 thousand would probably be a good starting number.

The Navy is more strait forward.

2 Minas Geraes Class Battleships

2 Bahia Class scout cruisers

10 Para Class destroyers

1 Fleet Tender

1 Fleet Tugboat.

You also have some older protected cruisers and three submarines.

Also, you've also just ordered Riachuelo

Gonna base my navy around the Mighty Louie, since it's the only ship I know is WWI era, with St. Louis, Milwaukee and Charleston making the core of my cruiser

Well, the RP starts 1914 I believe so you have a lot of ships. At the start of WWI, I believe the United States was the worlds 3rd largest Navy.

United States Ships operation before 1914:

Dreadnoughts: 10

2 South Carolina Class

2 Delaware Class Battleships

2 Florida Class

2 Wyoming Class

2 New York Class

Also, both Nevada Class Battleships had been launched and were betting fitted out so those would become available automatically later on in the RP. You may want to ask mr3awsome about that just to be sure

Both Pennsylvania Class Battleships had been laid down and were being built.

Pre-dreadnoughts: 18

2 Kearsarge Class (used mainly as training ships)

Illinois Class: (Used as training ships before and during the war)

3 Maine Class

5 Virginia Class

6 Connecticut Class

2 Mississippi Class

Armored Cruisers: 10

6 Pennsylvania Class (I would personally call them the Pittsburgh Class to avoid confusion but that is up to you

4 Tennessee Class

Protected Cruisers: The United States had 22 protected cruisers going in and out of service during the first decade of the 20th century. I am listing the classes that remained more or less in constant service.

 2 Columbia Class

6 Denver Class

3 St. Louis Class

USS Newark

USS Chicago: Used Primarily as a naval academy training ship and later converted into a submarine tender

USS Atlanta: Used as a Barracks ship

Scout Cruisers:  3

 3 Chester Class

 13 Bainbridge Class

3 Truxtun Class

5 Smith Class

21 Paulding Class

3 Cassin Class

4 Aylwin Class

5 Obrien Class destroyers were laid down and being built

 7 Plunger Class

3 B-Class

5 C-Class

3 D-Class

2 E-Class

4 F Class

4 G Class

3 H Class
