I tend to agree, much less vehemently of course. I think the game is too slow and tactical for most people to adjust to a "capping to win" meta.

Guess we will see if things change or not. It is a shame that the OP is so angry, this is a valid point.

Try and pay more attention to the time limit, if you don't have time to kill all the enemy, try and cap.

I got to agree that the abttles are kinda short and this cause draws but Wg has tried alot of solutions and they gather information so lets hope it is fixed.

Instead of being angry, which will get you nowhere with the development team, try offering a reasoned point on why they are bad and how they could improve them, or perhaps what could replace them.

Clearly they don't listen. This has been an on going issue. 

 

They have implemented domination style battles- same rules for domination but with only two base caps.. Why the christ haven't they done away with the standard format. Its a horrible setup. 

 

Yeah damn right I'm pissed. Finally have a huge game in the god awful STOCK lolorado, trying to get one damn victory. Alas, got a win, 9 hits....ty WG

Morpheus, what is your draw rate? Why is it such a problem? If you stop focusing on it I think you will find it isn't really a problem. I will admit that getting a draw when it should have been a win blows but on the other side of the coin pulling off a draw when it was going to be a loss does not and can be almost as good as a win.

It is a different type of match with different rules.  It provides a different challenge and helps keep the game fresh.  It isn't a "problem", its a choice that was made by the developers that you happen to disagree with.

Id rather have more standard matches and have tie breakers decided by team damage or xp. Domination modes are too determined by what team had the more suicidal DDs.

By fresh you mean both teams playing at max range for half the game than realize oh crap times gonna run out for a draw so they do a messy rush but guess what there was a ship who played hide and seek for the draw. Its usually Carrier that causes the draw either by being the last ship alive or by being a bigger [edited]and preventing the cap win even though his team has lost.

Sick of drawing really good games. There is no reason for standard battles in this game!

 

Should maybe learn to push onto cap water within the last 5 minutes. Especially since cap water is basically the same as open water on pretty much all standard caps.

I think maybe 1 draw is all I have had since 4.1.

 

Oh, wah, boo hoo, too many draws.  I shouldn't have to watch the timer or cap or do anything other than shoot stuff and chase down carriers.

Simple solution. Have the edges of the map(the fog) start to shrink at a certain time and continue shrinking until it's kill or be killed. Can't run off and hide forever.

I haven't come across very many Standard Battles since the new release, but a bunch of the 2 cap domination games have appeared instead.  In fact actually managed to have a draw in a 3 cap Domination game earlier today.

Honestly, it needs to go. Draws happen so much, because losing is nearly impossible. In order to lose, you must either:

  • yolo all your boats to death
  • utterly fail to reset your own cap

So what happens when you have two teams that don't charge in to their deaths, and kill ships that try to cap? You get a couple battleships, battered after fighting off the opposing cap-fleets, sitting at their own caps and watching the last five minutes tick off the clock, unable to do anything about it.

Pretty much done with this style of map.

 

More often than not, you will lose the game if you try to go for the objective. Resetting the cap is to blame, the short timer is to blame, the promoting camping playstyle is to blame, etc.

 

It is not fun, and I don't even bother going for the cap any more. Trying to win the game, yet being forced to sit in a small circle just to be sank anyway is just a terrible concept.

The only way the devs are getting a handle on the draw rate is to limit the opportunities  that it can happen.  That should tells you guys something.  Standard battles are broken which is why they are limited to about 33% of the matches you see.  Reminds me a little of the way they initially tried to band-aide the CV problem by limiting their numbers.  It's doesn't resolve the problem that standard battles result in draws ~20% of the time.

 

The OP is correct they have a way to eliminate draws and have chosen not to do so.

 

They count as a loss to everyone's win rate yet they reward unsportsmanlike play.  I have seen AFK\Bots force draws and most draws involve players running and hiding.

 

For those so adamant that it's fine please explain what value draw serve this game?
