144 Sandman1969 Beta Testers 2,089 posts 2,379 battles Report post #1 Posted September 6, 2015 This weekend has been ridiculous with shots. Doesn't matter the tier/ship. But I am seeing a lot of my shots straddle the target. For example, was just in my Cleveland & was fighting an Aoba that was 11kms away. The majority of my shots just straddle instead of hitting. I aim aiming for the water line or above/below to compensate. Doesn't make any bit of difference and it is really starting to frustrate the crap out of me. I'll have shots that are dead on & yet it straddles. I'd like to post the replay but no clue how to share it/convert it. I want to find out what it is that is going wrong. 144 Sandman1969 Beta Testers 2,089 posts 2,379 battles Report post #5 Posted September 6, 2015 I have it mounted on any ship that has it, doesn't help. You know, it'd be nice to get more than 1 match every 100+ that is an actual GOOD match with lots of damage.

Honestly, you are doing something wrong with your aiming, or you have some sort of lag that makes you think you are aiming well, but the shots are off. I average over 60k a game in my Cleveland, its a damage machine. And the mods reduce dispersion by 7% - a huge difference. Everyone gets straddle shots, thats normal, but to always get them is either an exaggeration or you are simply aiming wrong or its lag.

Skip ahead to where I am fighting the Aoba at 11kms out. The time index is probably the best way to tell people what part of a replay you're referring to—you have the Aoba at 11km at about 13:00 then again around 7:00. It's the latter instance where you have more than one full salvo at it and that's when you mentioned it in chat, so I'm assuming that's when you're referring to. A big issue I noticed is that your lead is too small, so your shells are falling a in a circle around the stern of the ship: this is easier to dodge, because of how ships pivot in the game—shells falling abeam are much more difficult to dodge via rudder shifts. (I suggest working on your lead, you were fairly consistently leading too little that match.) Aside from that, you didn't really have that many on-target salvos bracket for it to seem like the RNG had it in for you that match, at least to me. When they're falling around the stern it's far more probable to see full misses because you've halved your chances to hit already.
