This is what all those letters mean. I didn't know about what it meant either until someone on the forums told me

CV = carrier

DD = destroyer

CA = armored/heavy cruiser

CL = light cruiser

BB = battleship

:)

Yes.

Make sure you take the time to learn the above abbreviations. Most players will use the naval designations in matches and it really adds to your situational awareness if someone on your team is trying to warn you a DD is hiding around an island. This way you know to expect an ambush and can plan accordingly. Just an example.

Very important to learn these.

They are essential to learn, as most players refer to the ships as these abbreviations during games.

Sometimes you'll see people in game refer to carriers as "AC" and battleships as "[edited]". These are wrong and you should never use them, but it still helps to know what people are talking about.

Forum slang 101. Some if it was used by the US Navy, others are close but abbreviated.

DD - Destroyer

-DL - Destroyer leader (Nicholas

CL - Light Cruiser

CA - Heavy Cruiser

AC - Armored Cruiser

PC - Protected Cruiser

LC - Large Cruiser

BC - Battlecruiser

BB - Battleship
CV - Aircraft Carrier
