So after 4.1 the Furutaka is better but I feel like it still has one major problem: the rudder. I seem to get my rudder knocked out at least once a game but typically more like 2 - 4 (This is usually in a short span making the repair ability useless or cruisers set tons of fires so I don't have it usable or waste it on the rudder only to deal with fire damage.). Either this needs to be reduced slightly or the rudder repair time needs to be decreased. 1.5 minutes with how often this thing gets the rudder knocked out seems a little ridiculous and I don't think asking to have a slight decrease on rudder module damage is that much to ask for, even with the recent buff. I can't speak for too many Japanese ships but I haven't had that many problems with rudder on other ships, at least not to this extent. Any thoughts?

You could try throwing the rudder module on your ship.  I think it is like 250k?  It should help you out especially if that ship is particularly 'unlucky' in that aspect.  It will decrease the chance of it getting knocked out by 20% and have a 20% faster repair time.

Well I legitimately forgot about that mod, never really needed it on any other ship since WBT, but at the same time kinda sucks to have to buy that module considering. Will give it a try and see if it helps that much! :honoring:

I use the Rudder mod in the third slot, it really helps with rudder damage and is a must have for the Furutaka.

The question I would be asking is what is the fastest way out of this ship.

I was so glad when I could move on I couldn't sell it fast enough.

I haven't played the new FuryTaco so maybe I should shout up and let you Guys discuss how to make it better.

I'll just sit in the corner and listen.

I liked the Furutaka even before they buffed it. The only problem with it is that it's a radical change from the Kuma and the player will more than likely not be ready for the different play style. The biggest issue back then was the turret traverse speed was abysmal which they seem to have buffed. All I can say is try and have fun in the game no matter what ship you're in. If your goal is to just get to the next ship you're not getting a lot out of the game!

I plan on keeping the Furutaka as I like the mix of fights a Tier V gets.

That said, which module makes more sense for the improved Furutaka?  The Fire Control System Modification 1 (increases main battery accuracy by an undisclosed amount) or Main Battery Modification 2 (+10% to main battery loading time and +15% to main battery traverse speed, which if I read it right would lower my reload time from 15 seconds to 13.5 seconds and my 180 degree turn time from 36 seconds to 30.6 seconds)?

Thanks.

Actually that module increases your reload time not decreases, it's garbage don' take it. I was a bit worried about getting into this boat, but once I got most of the upgrades for her she's performing very nice, hell I'm averaging more torpedo his in this thing the my tier 6 and 7 DD's last few games. She's a bit like a BB in that you have to plan ahead what side you intend to engage on in order to have your turrets where you need them, when you need them.

I took the accuracy mod.

As to the Furutaka, it feels like I am doing better in her, even without full upgrades, than I did in the Kuma, and I enjoyed the Kuma quite a bit.  Was planning on keeping her, but if Furutaka keeps playing like this I may sell Kuma.
