Played some match in public test and feel somewhat okay. But after i read the changelog I was down a bit. Then when I get into the game i gues I'll stop playing for a while since everything become super frustrating for a CV-half DD captain like me.

I tried to MM as Shoukaku. I was the only CV. Then the CV number jump to 4 with around 20 others ships. Then the number of CVs turn to 2 with the number of others ship turn to 0 (mean they mm together). Then CV number up to 3-5 and the number of others ship grow around 10-26. But then they all get MM togther again and left my Shoukaku. After wating for 15 mins and same issues like 5 times. I changed to my Hiryuu.

Hiryuu MM was very fast. I got into a match with me + Indy vs ranger + Indy. My fighters vs Ranger fighters is fine. But when i chased down Indy TB with all my new launch fighters, they only lost 2 planes and i lost 2 fighters after chasing that TB squad down half of the map and my fighters lost around 2/3 of their ammo.

 

After that I change into 3/1/2 and did some matches with Hiryuu and Shoukaku, it turn out almost USN CV captain use no fighter since 3 fighters from Hiryuu and Shoukaku ate all USN CV fighters early. Now IJN CV turn do exactly the job the USN supose to be is get rid all of enemy fighters then eat the rest of the DB and TB when USN CV act the same as IJN CV be4: go big or go home.

 

Idk why u nerf Mutsuki while she's very UP already. 

 

I glad that u buff Furutaka, but u no need to buff Omaha too. 16km range with the captain skill. while u nerf wyoming range down like 10km

 

My Yubari got a new AA def skill. No thanks, what Yubari need is smaller citadel or 1 more turretts. In term of fire power and suvivability she lose to Kuma and Phoenix at same tier (2x2 vs 7 guns on Kuma and 10 guns of Phoenix and around 6k hp) 6k Hp different is insane on tier 4. And mostly she'll match with Omaha, which have planes, has AA skills, more guns,... etc. Yubari need more love than giving the skill that mostly useless at tier 4 MM.

I can't really tell whether or not to use fighter build on my Ranger.

If I don't, I now risk getting blown out of the sky even by 2/2/2 builds. If I do well I lose TB squadron which I do love.

Yubari getting an extra turret isn't gonna happen. No modification in real life was like that.

 

Instead, give it a rate of fire of 15.0 and then it'll be fine.

The original design was 4 turrets, 6 guns. We get the AA modification the Yubari had for only a short time shortly before sinking iirc.

I was surprised to see them nerf low tier Battleships.   I guess it needs to be even more painful.

Increasing chances to catch fire on some ship made me lol too.

Yubari will still suck IMHO, and I am not sure the AAA on USN DD's will cut it, but we shall see in the upcoming days.


 

Most of it is good stuff tho.

I came up against a Hiryu in my Ranger tonight who was 3/1/2...that's just crazy strong for that tier.  I was 1/1/1 so I could have at least 1 TB and was pretty much stopped everywhere I went.  Not enough fighters to defend myself or anyone else and not enough fighters to protect my bombers long enough to do damage.  The best I would be able to do against that is the air load out at 2/0/2 which would be just as useless.  No TB to do any decent bomb damage and only 2 fighters aren't going to be able to stop bombers with 3 fighters leading in.  The 3 fighters will tie up my 2 plenty long enough for the bombers to get through.  That 3/1/2 load out is amazingly strong.

Stock Wyoming is 10km. Fully upgraded it's a perfectly serviceable 12km. Scratch that: it's still 14km.

 

Besides, the bloody thing has a 12 gun broadside.

 

And it's not really a buff to the Omaha: Getting that extra 2km range means losing 2 guns. It's a tradeoff, but at least now it's a worthwhile tradeoff instead of a downgrade.

And it's not really a buff to the Omaha: Getting that extra 2km range means losing 2 guns. It's a tradeoff, but at least now it's a worthwhile tradeoff instead of a downgrade.

 

I dunno man, shelling people with an Omaha from a longer range means their not shelling me without me unable to respond. I tried to use the Omaha C hull once...gave up and went back to the Vodka boat for that extra 2km range.

Omaha C hull needed something to get people to use it as it was the AA hull and those lower tiers need all the AA help they can get.

 

AA cooldown is NOT useless.  Properly used it will save you or a teammate's butt because it throws the aim of the planes off.

Still standing by what I said yesterday, the shell change to the US Omaha's was not just a description change, it was a heavy nerf to the AP rounds.  They seem to hang more and pen a lot less now.  I was averaging 47k in that boat before the patch and climbing fast in about 10 matches the best I've managed is 43k.  No changes to the hull still running the trusty B, but my AP damage is about half because I don't get the citadels I used to get with her.  Could it all be bad luck, sure it could but before 120 hit match was typically between 80-100k damage match for me now is in the 40k range.

Well a CA getting a 2km increase means a ton more than a BB getting one - the RNG is friends with CA and will cause a BB's salvo to miss from 2 cm away.

 

Yubari does need something - just about every other premium WoWS ship will be fairly evenly matched vs any same tier non-premium - the Yubari might do well against an Albany but only because the Yubari has mean torpedoes.

Yubari needs to have its citadel shrunk to almost nothing.  It would be keeping with its historical equivalent, which would have a pretty small citadel (as small or non-existent as St. Louis' or Cleveland's).  It also needs infinite AA Defensive Fire.  Those two things would make Yubari plenty sufficient and a very good T4 Premium, while still being lightly armored for its class and it's tactical weakness.  Of course, it'd be nice if they offered the original base design as an optional alternate hull, to trade AA for slightly more firepower.

I can't really say anything about CV's. Idk when I'll start playing them. I am afraid to say I agree with the Mutsuki nerf. I found it very annoying to have to chase them with their 10K range ( and high concealment.) for too long in the game when I could be doing something better in the match. I liked the Yubari pretty good until they made it so engine hits were constantly happening ( moreso than any other ship I believe.). Having an AA buff was a surprise and I have shot down more planes but I was expecting something more useful like torps that could go at least 8K or more, or less citadel like you said. All's I remember about the Furutaka was I liked it alot, then they went to open beta and it was like a different ship. Like the guns rotated alot less. I notice they increased that but I don't plan on buying the Furutaka back to check if it seems like the ship I remember. I'll just keep the Phoenix in that class and tier. I liked the Omaha C hull right away and had no problem with 2 less guns. Btw Moon_Princess is a girl. Da.
