Seriously, if you are going to push a flank in force, do it. Don't turn around half way through and leave your top tier slow battleship to fight alone so you can do chase down a single destroyer on the other side of the map. This exact thing has happened to me twice today in my Colorado. Leaving my slower, short ranged ship to be picked off bu long range fire or from invisible destroyers parked on either side of me.  And its probably going to happen a lot more, making my progress to North Carolina as slow and painfully infuriating as possible.

I have a feeling that this is the reason everyone hates Colorado. I personally love the ship, but can't stand being left alone to fight off 7 plus ships of various types, oh yeah, lets through a TB squad or two into the mix. Because that sounds real fun.

Don't go Rambo. Stay as far back as you can and snipe. Your hit ratio and rewards will go down, but so will your repair fees, so unless you have both insane aim, and insane RNG, you'll end up making more credits.

He'll earn less of both.

I didn't. at the beginning of the game I had half the team with me, all fast cruisers and a battlecruiser. But 5 minutes later I was retreating as I was being left alone, even when I asked for help, they ignored me. They couldn't even manage to taken on a battleship, two cruisers and a destroyer that were threatening the cap, which is why they turned around. I was probably better off going it alone now that I think about it.

And as for sniping, My aim isn't good enough to hit anything out side of 13km, and I still haven't gotten down how to hit ships that are moving at an angle to me. Probably should have long before I got to Colorado and Pensacola, the latter of which I only unlocked yesterday and haven't yet played. Perhaps I need a clan to help me out. Since I apparently can't learn it on my own.

OP has a point. Sometimes people seem too scared to make a combined push.

Just had a battle where a brave Atlanta and my Atago led a push against the bulk of enemy ships.

Many cruisers turned back out of fear. If they didn't we would sink more ships. Ssssh.

In the end neither I nor the Atlanta was sunk and I with the Atlanta sank two ships and almost killed another two.

A lot of people just don't seem to have the confidence of winning and are way too concerned about the survivability of their low tier ships.

Be more of a coward. Learn what situations tend to make people run away, and run away before your team does. Find wherever the enemy team is pushing, and push somewhere else.

What exactly are you trying to say? That I lower my standard of play and start playing like everyone else? No thanks, I would rather try to win as opposed to be the very player this thread is directed at. Not that they will ever see it. I'll bet 70% of the player base doesn't even use the Forums.

This is the root cause here. OP, not to be rude, but you will be much better received and get better info if you ask HOW to do something rather than RANT about what you can't.

To answer your question/request, look at this SS.

CSxs7Fb.jpg?1

It is using a mod sight, (Krab v2, Aslain.com), but it gives you the general idea. To hit ships either on approach or departure angles, you need to allow for their travel toward/away from you. Essentially, imagine a line thru their hull, and then make that line intersect the center aim point. Allowing for their speed of travel slightly trickier, but it comes with experience. Take your best guess on the first shot, then adjust as necessary. The Krab sight is nice because it includes the standard sight gradations along the different axis to make guess-estimates a little easier.

Not necessarily. I will turn away if the odd's are against me. No reason to go kamikaze just to deal some damage to what's coming at you and HOPE others can take care of what's left.

For instance, while driving the Murmansk, I'll turn away from a Cleveland. That ship out ranges me. Why charge in and commit suicide? IF, I could out maneuver his ROF, and get within 8km to fire torps, maybe. But that's a BIG MAYBE AND IF. You have to know what your up against, and your capabilities. And, YES. Be confident that you will succeed.

You have my sympathies.  I generally turn around if I'm in a cruiser and someone jumped our cap, but I have been in this situation before in my Kongo.

If anyone accuses you of aim assist, just tell them you like spider webs.

Yeah earlier today I realized how lacking guts the base is. Was on my Kongo since had the daily from yesterday 1.5 to do. Just said screw it, ran through c gap on Fault Line leading rest of team. We won as a result of my sacrifice clearing most of the health off the 3 ships left standing guarding it after I rammed one to finish.

Of course the opposite happens too. Just had idiots try to rush middle in Twins. All but 3 ships died in 5 minutes, getting no further than just inside the flagged area.

The odds were not heavily stacked against us. In fact I would think we had more chance at winning the engagement because the enemy came in two groups with one coming in much later.

This game is as much as about psychology as it is skills.
