Waves...

Gunnery in the navies of the world was allot like being a surfer in that leed, was not at all the problem. Where things got dicey, was timing the trigger pull for roll and wave period. without hydraulics in many cases, to compensate for roll and pitch on the guns. Instead of telling you that something is wrong, let me try to generate interest in a more hostile ocean. Flat is ok, Surfing a BB, would be....

So, the reasons for wanting this in WOWS:

1. Whatever the things that get you enraged about WOWS, (let's be honest, for most of us, even when a ship disapears, it's the exception and what really enrages you is..... "good kill red... you got me (I hate you for the next 2 minutes) there is allot more right about the fluid feel (dynamics from the helm) than not. If someone has to be the first to make a real ocean environment, much less with this combat, The Dev's here could do it well.

2. Lets face it, Crashing down the face of wave in to the next wave face in a vessel for a couple days at a time, walking the ceiling on your way to watch and tying yourself to anything you can when your not, is fun for some people, especially with a reset... Flat ocean is WOT without hills when you think about it, which is fun as it is.

3. All the issues of balance and match making, could really be handled without adjusting ship parms, but by making the ocean like it is and would have been with the pre-radar targeting systems.... WW2, and I am greatly paraphrasing, allot of battles went on for 10's of hours between large numbers of ships and only relatively few were sunk.... RELATIVELY...... The reason is, it's hard to aim when waves are not flat, but up to a 8 story building.....

4. Between Australia and Tasmania, after riding a sick typhoon out of the Indian Ocean, we hit swells that given the right heading, and timing, appeared to be over the flight deck of a Nimitz class CVN... on both side (in the trough) then your went up and over, and down, for days....  Simulating waves, could be visually stunning, and to date, really unseen in any MP simulation.

That's why I would ask for your help in making this higher on the customer wants list... That's all it is.

As much as I would love actual waves and such, I say in just a bit every thread about this that these waves would be devastating to anyone running lower end computer. I would take a bet that anyone running medium graphics would be thrown to almost unplayable frames per second. Anyone below that, would probably not be playing at all. Oh and apparently the game engine can't do this so there's that.

B-but Tasmania is in Australia D:

Nevertheless, the current reason for no waves atm is both it lowers performance, but may come in time.

Waves according to eventualities will be graphically in just like ahem... the 'best' part of 4.1 comes out. Trees.

However, it won't throw off anyone's aim for balance reasons. This isn't a sim.
