Greatings everyone!! I am writing this post because of reasons and stuff. No seriously, each nation kinda gets their own flavor, japan with excellent torps and hitpoints and america having good armor, AA and artillery and if the Tirpitz is anything to go off of the germans will be very difficult to sink and will trade raw damage for ROF for damage and the opposite for destroyers, most German destroyers were armed with 5.9" guns, thats the same guns on the German light cruisers. with some battleships getting torps (Scharnhorst, Tirpitz, Deutschland). Im excited for italy, they get so little credit. At the beggining of the war Italy had one of the biggest and certainly the most modern navy in the world, having kept very little from wwi besides the dullios and dorias and going under a massive building program during the 30's. I believe their flavor will be very close to real life. they will be very very fast and maneuverable with low armor and health, they will have pitifull range which will owe to them not having radar during the war. but they will be extremely accurate at ranges that they can reach. this was proven when the Italian fleet went on menouvers in a grand display for Hitler. So they wont be able to take much of a beating but they will be hard to hit consistently and they will be able to hit you consistently. they will be able to pick and choose their fights, being so rediculously maneuverable as to fight or run as they choose. however their low protection will lead to critical hits occurring quite often, that is when and if they are hit at all. Although Tirpitz is my most favorite battleship ever PERIOD, i have to admit that the Littorio class was probably the most well rounded battleship ever built, perfectly combining speed, armament, protection and elegance. It wasnt very heavily armored but it was how it was armored that made them just as survivable as other nations whilst not sacrificing speed and maneuverability to extra weight from extra armor. anyways thats just my opinion on the matter. How do you think they will be?? do you agree with me?? if not please explain why, im eager to know. take care until next time!

From what I have read Italian BBs had very bad dispersion Due to bigh velocity shells and bored out rifles (Dullio and Doria Classes). Gunnery was as good as any, but the salvoes would pattern.

They did have the most gorgeous ships though and as a fan of the RM from Axis and Allies War at Sea, will be playing them. Cannot wait for my Pola either... Like a mini battleship.

Do also note that they have excellent shell velocity, but they may have had too much shell velocity resulting in poor dispersion unless they use reduced charges. Italian AA will also be mediocre unless they get fictional modernizations, but seeing as how we got a fictional modernization for a paper ship in the Myogi that can probably be arranged.

Cernuschi, Colliva, etc argue these days the results of the Italian naval accuracy where near or on par with at least British and as the Pensacola is considered a sniper with common cradle and Soviet ships taking design cues from Italians I'm not sure if wild inaccuracy is to be expected. Warspite hit Cesare and she at the very least hit within some yards to cause splinter damage or a ready ammo locker to explode depending on who you believe. Montecuccoli hit HMS Hebe from some 23000 yards as well. The meta for Italians will vary with the interwar period favoring the stereotype of fast ships with no armor and gradually shifting to modest speeds and heavier armor. Basically I would expect long range, low rof fire and low alpha snipers that troll the periphery for easy kills.

I'm ready for additional tech tree's, esp. the Italians. Got tired of waiting on them being put in wot, but gladly will wait for them in wows (as in this standpoint) I really don't see me moving on to something else.

Unfortunately theorized upgrades is what it will have to be. None of the ships went to the US for the Bofors Costco superpack as the French ships did. :D

In this respect an example could be given of the Capitani Romani class can receive a theoritical load out as the post war San Marco went to 3x 2 5"/38 with 20 40mm bofors or as Guichen a torpedo heavy boat with a 12 torpedo spread.
