You get told the shut the **** up...  I try to help out a teammate that WASNT moving that he was in danger and im the bad guy?  The community here is getting as bad as WoT.  And reporting in the post battle screen probably doesnt do a darn thing anyways, much like in WoT.  No point in helping or being part of a team in this game.

Bad players will always be bad. Some of them don't like being told what to do, simple as that. Just pour some salts on them and move along

If a certain player tells you to stop, then stop, let them die if they fail to heed your advice. There are some that still appreciate the heads up and others that do not.

Part of the issue is a lot of dead players like to suddenly become armchair Admirals and expect everyone to do as they say. Sorry but I have a hard time taking strategic advice from someone who died in the first 3 minutes and scored less that 300XP.

This has happened to me a few time..the last time I warned the cv that he was going to get wrecked since a flank had failed and he gave me the usual stfu noob attitude.

To be fair, there are people who are far better at being armchair admirals than being ship captains. Not everyone, obviously, but it happens. You learn to spot the useful ones.

But yeah, if someone decided to sit there and let themselves get killed after several warnings, leave them to it. You told them so, they can either learn or keep dying.

True.

However being a Battleship captain and getting yelled at by a dead Destroyer captain about how I move too slow and appear to be spawn camping (I started at I9 and am moving to A5!) gets old. I had a match recently where some DD captain was telling everyone to rush the 3 line on North, he was dead within 3 minutes of the start. He then started yelling that we were all useless because we refused to follow him or weren't fast enough. I sank a Colorado and a Wyoming and he continued to yell at me specifically saying I made no contributions to the team and all I did was sit in spawn.

After the match ended I had 2400+ XP and he had 212XP...yeah that was vindication enough for me.

Some people just don't understand while this may be a team game, not everyone is going to do what any 1 person demands, especially if no one else thinks it makes any sense.

Well there are multiple things that may be going on.  Some of which are beyond your control.

  1. The player needing help may appreciate it.
  2. The player needing help may not be receptive to advice. (Does not trust your credentials, knows everything, having a bad day, it's an alternate Thursday, whatever.)
  3. The player giving advice may be diplomatic.
  4. The player giving advice may have failed diplomacy 101.

  Receptive Not receptive
Diplomatic Listens Ignores/rages
Less than diplomatic Ignores/rages Rages/ignores

The odds are stacked against you, but if you start out saying "You idiot, you need to ..."  you're done before you start.

I think it's funnier when ppl try to tell me how to play a CV

Hahahaha, some people just aren't overly bright.

Though in some people's defense, not everyone knows who you are or what you have accomplished in CVs.

^This. Last thing I wanna hear is 'go cap C scrub' when my Kawachi is in a deathmatch with 3 other guys and nowhere near C, from someone who leapt into the DD bait conga line or flew into 4 people on the other team within the first couple minutes of the match.

TBH I almost always ignore them save for situational heads ups, cause in most one-death-and-you're-out arena games that's where the ragers go to 'help' (read: cut down) their 'bad teams'. Happens in mechwarrior online, etc, and happens here. Even if the person he's yelling at is playing legit badly, it's not gonna help cause a lot of times it's someone who isn't very experienced and the person will just make even worse decisions. Those guys get slotted up for being reported the moment I see them acting indignant and abusive.

That's ok.  It was suggested to me that I not fire my torpedoes if any of my team mates were in front of me. We were just leaving spawn. I told him that was good advice.  I also told him I wrote the book on torpedoes, but it was still good advice.

I've noticed a certain stigma attached to a few ships. For example, when I take my Atago out, I'll often get the typical ''don't go yolo in front and die in the first minute'' comment. Of course there's last night when I was drunk and I did exactly that...

I had a drunk Yamato ram an iceberg broadside to my Yamato......I love playing against drunk people.

I swear I've had Tahio and Hakuryu flight decks bounce more of my shells than battleship belt armour.

WG games for some reason tend to attract really trashy and abusive players. Perhaps games dealing with depiction of war set in online matches tend to attract worse kinds of human beings. Interestingly, it seems the rudest people have bad command of English and poor vocabulary that usually revolves around b*tch, r*pe, f*ck, your mom/sister/daughter, and st*u.

I'm starting to think many are Mexicans and when I asked in a match how many of them were Mexican, one funny guy mentioned I was Donald Trump LOL. Ew, I don't like Mr. Trump.

It's not a matter of being a bad player it's a matter of being downright rude or even abusive player.

Did he ask for help, or did you decide to chime in and tell him what to do unsolicited? If you weren't asked, not sure what would make you think someone wants your advice or help regardless of how good / bad it may be, unless your one of those game admirals that feels the need to tell everyone what to do in game, where to go, then complains when they don't listen. people just like to play and have a little fun without worrying about being all MLG all the time.

the next time all you unsolicited advice givers / in game admirals feel persecuted or unappreciated, I'd suggest jumping up on a cross, maybe people will care then.

No, there is definitely a quadrant where the recipient will listen.  Besides that, there are ten other people who may be reading your chat and may learn something from your sage advice.  Some of them may learn that you have no sage advice, but that's on you.

If one person learns something useful the game population is improved.  You can call that a win if you are willing to take the long view.  The more people using chat for constructive advice the more uncomfortable the trolls will become.  I call that a win.

So your saying, that i should have let the undetected DD sneak up and kill him where he spawned and not moving? Makes sense...

Yeah, nice plan, let the idiot continue to be an idiot and if he sticks arround just drag this game a little bit deeper in the hole toward WoT's community level.

I'm fine with people giving constructive criticisms. I don't want to hear "lol ur bad at this game!" when they sank minutes prior.
