Here's my dilemma...     and it's mostly rhetorical

1)  Love moving up the trees to tier 8 9 and 10 and fully understand that clam wars will be tier 10, mostly..  maybe something like strongholds, but primarily tier 10.    not an issue..

2)  My main interest is in pre ww1 ships and designs which limits my playing to around tier 4 and below.

I love the competition of Clam Wars and working as a team, but I really don't like ships designed and built post 1930 at the latest and preferable pre-dreadnought.

I would love to see two World of Warships..  one which runs to tier 10 pre WW1  and one that runs WW2 but I know that won't happen.

Side issue..  very limited CV in WW1  (deliberate statement to generate angst)

Still  something to ponder on a Monday morning at work:)

Regards

G

Steamers vs little necks

Oysters vs mussels.

ONE SCALLOP TO RULE THEM ALL..only clam wars or can we have bivalve wars?

Do not change that typo

bivalve would work as well...  scallop wars would do  as would clam wars or even mollusk wars or even,  and I type this tongue in clam..  mercenaria wars  :hiding:

Just play and *gasp* have fun. :)

Huh? If you play for fun your win rate will instantly drop 15%.

With WoT having clam wars 2.0 allowing for lower tiered match up, there really would not be any issue to have specific areas of the World's oceans, ports, and aisles to be tier specific.

Hey Red..  oddly enough, I have "fun" every time I hit the battle button..well mostly..  I don't personally give a ----- about tier, who's on the team, what mm has done or anything.. I play each match trying to win and accept the result..  this isn't about fun..  this is about wishing there were more levels to advance in my favourite type of ship..  which I know will never happen.

Trust me, if I wasn't having fun, I wouldn't be here :)

I know, and I agree 110% with you. I think a non tree research path would be great, where long lived ships can have different refits make them different tiers, instead of in tier upgrades.

Example:

USS California.

1922 Standard @ Tier 6

1944 Colorado refit @ Tier 7

1944/45 CA/WV rebuild @ Tier 8

This would give me boner like no other. :izmena:

Only problem would be ship without long life, to keep this model would introduce non-historical refits patterned on historical trends..

oh wait... Myogi you say? :teethhappy:

2) Naval Action....look into it..you will enjoy.

I am really looking forward to that when it is open to enrollment again.  Perhaps even the rage chat will be old English or Latin.

Why do you think that?

Consider:

- Ranked battles are at tier 6 and 7.

- Most of the most famous WWII ships are tier 8. The lines are clearly designed this way.

- Game is best balanced in the mid-tiers.

- WG is known to want to make CW more accessible.

I suspect that we will see one of the following:

- Different levels of clan wars (most likely 6,8,10).

- Team building rules for CW that explicitly avoid straight tier 10 teams. For example, maybe instead of 12 x T10 you have to have 2 x T10, 2 x T9, 8 x T8. I think is the best solution. Make Tier 8 the main competitive tier, but provide some motivation to go all the way to 10. Of course, WG has a long and proud history of not listening to me.

Either lowers entry barriers and also lets Bismarck and Enterprise fight it out for Queen of the Seas, if not instead of, than at least in addition to the match up of "1941 Type A Heavy Cruiser Project" and glorious stronk Soviet napkin drawings.
