USS North Carolina....

Worth it.
Worth that craptacular, horror of a grind known as USS Colorado. Noting fancy... just a straight, old fashion, direct upgrade to everything. 

​I love my Nagato... but I free XP'd a chunk of that POSarado and could not be any happier. 

Even the stock ship is...
Faster
Better Armored
Better Firepower
Better AAA

Better accuracy....
 

Then the proceeding ship... by a pretty large margin. I no longer feel like I am screwing over the rest of my team by taking the Colorado instead of the New Mexico...

Because I have that GLORIOUS North Carolina.

So was I. It is a favorite of mine IRL. It's just implemented poorly.

You need the hulls the most. The thing starts with no AAA and no deck armor.

Low hit-points, speed and poor accuracy are a part of some meta no doubt... Just not one I understand. The only redeeming factor was it's AAA IMHO.

 

And even THAT is better on the STOCK Nor Car.

 

But, by all means, if you have some tactical advice to make this grind competitive do share it for those without the expendable income to simply transfer 70k free XP and unlock the damn thing.

dispersion didnt feel much of an upgrade but armor on NC is pretty op. it seriously has more than Iowa atm

Nah dude - Colorado will have you hating this game. I am not the type to feed into hype and I was like you until I played the thing. It is an abysmal ship - I'd rather be in NY to be honest.

Yeah, the Colorado seems HORRIBLE, I am currently at New Mexico, but I am dreading have to use the Colorado, I don't know what they were thinking when they designed it.

 

The thing has only 4x2 turrets, maybe I could rely on secondaries, but it's still slow as fugg

The Lolorado is garbage

 

North Carolina is life.  North Carolina is love.  Especially when you get that hull upgrade (54k xp is a lot...  lol)

 

I sold my Lolorado half way through the grind, repurchased the New Mex and free XP'd it.  It's that terrible a ship.

 

In the CBT I didn't think it was that bad - I think because the grind was so much smaller with the old economy.

 

Now...  That thing is an absolute chore to play.

The Colorado isn't great, But no ship has felt as bad of a grind as the Pensacola was for me in CBT. I'd NEVER do that again.

My love for the NC was there when it was stock, but really grew with the hull upgrade. Dropping from 30 to 20 second rudder shift time (iirc) was a huge improvement in my ability to dodge high tier torp bombers.

I once had a game in the cbt where I triple citadeled an Iowa in my Colorado, turned out to be a decent game, but one decent game does not make a ship good. On average it performs poorly and is not competitive for its tier, you can still have good games in it but you are playing from a somewhat substantial disadvantage.

Thing is when the Colorado's guns do manage a hit, they hit hard.  Very hard.  Was on the receiving end of a Colorado not long ago, and it was unpleasant.

 

I suspect the Colorado isn't nearly as bad as some people make it out to be, but I'll find out soon enough.
