Two Brothers Standard Battle is poorly implemented

Standard Battle on Two Brothers needs to be removed, or some incentive put in to encourage people to do something other than just wait in their base. Right now  attacking is basically a waste, as moving en-force will result in someone going down the middle and capping, and moving only part of your force just ends up dying to the other side who's cowering in base. In lower tiers that basically sums up all the matches but at least they end in a win/loss. Later on it's just a long string of tedious draws. Domination doesn't have this issue because they're penalized for cowering in the base.

 

Maybe a mode where you had to hold BOTH circles on both sides of the island might be nice, especially if the channel blocked itself when you got ships in both circles I'm not sure. But right now it's not enjoyable. And given the fact that it makes up 70% of the tier 5-7 games, that's a lot of bad games.

It is one of the worst maps simply because it doesn't force confrontation. Either both teams go in the same direction or the go to separate ways and the game ends in an uneventful capture.

So send some dd thru to wipe out the campers i do that if cv scouts show i have some space at the other end to drop torps and turn tail

I've had 14 straight losses tonight, 12 of which are two-brothers, and 10 of those were standard battle. People do not care what you have to say. In this game they're bafflingly resistant to even death-balling like in most games. They want to charge off and do.. whatever it is they feel they need to do; including saying "I'm going to go take A" when in a standard battle game without any cap points.

 

I'm not proposing that anything can be done to amend that other than playing another game. My point is more "What can be done to make the maps and game-modes we have be easier to lead the head-strong player to positive roles." For the most part in the other maps they charge off and do whatever; the difference being some of the faster ones (if left alive) can generally make it back and/or get a shot back on someone in the cap points. On Two Brothers that's countered by there being an irrationally large Mt Doom in the middle of the map. It's fair to say your average solo player will never improve at this, so I'd like to see either the game mode removed, or amended somehow that it worked to people's natural tendencies on that map.

The center battle is also OK, but I can't say I would shed a tear if standard battle was removed.

Standard makes little sense.

Standard should be replaced with a deathmatch game type [sink the enemy fleet].

 

Domination is meh. Splits the teams pretty heavily except on Two Brothers which can have the Domination Circlejerk.

 

Encounter should be more frequent and on more maps.
