SO I am worried about the NA servers population. Like many people here I am sure you guys would like to see the NA server more active than its current state but things are not looking that great. So far when OBT first started I personally have seen the population reach 24k I believe it was but after a few days that number has been dropping and dropping. Awhile ago it used to be common to see 18 or even 19k people on but now it seems 15k is peek time. Just a few weeks ago it used to be 16k but today it only reached 15k its a very worrying trend. PAX prime is going on and its the 3rd day with little if any population improvement at all idk guys very worrying wargaming needs to step it up on advertisements or maybe they should have keep it in CBT for a while longer. So the game could be developed a little bit more but what do you guys think.  :(

So this is kinda a dead horse beatdown thread-

Population numbers have been pretty stable (IMO) for awhile. Also keep in mind that apparently the ad campaign is just starting to ramp up (a la Nyx and why we can't buy the Tirpitz/Mikasa). Looking right now the server population is about 15k, which is pretty decent.

TBH I don't expect this game to ever be as popular as WoT as it's more niche, but I think it's doing well.

I wouldn't be worried.

Summer just ended for a large amount of the NA server population (returning to school).

That said: I imagine you will see a swing to the positive, when fall and winter comes around. Colder weather, means more people indoors and many in front of their computers.

You should also see a large boost of player population when there German line is introduced in October.

Well people started going back to school starting around 2 weeks ago. That might be why.

As long as we don't start to get 3-3 battles like in WoWP, I wouldn't worry too much.

...Don't worry Wargaming, once I get a better PC, I'll take to the skies again... Someday.

The KC folks are still in the middle of their annual salt fest, either finishing up E-6/E-7 or finish farming the maps before the summer event closes. You'd be surprised how many WoWS players are active KC players. After 9/7 the population should jump back

They want customers, quit offering 2X on a weekend up from an already anemic 1.5X daily, ohhhhh a whole .5X increase, and step it up to 3X.

Then put one CV per side per battle, it's bad enough getting torpedoes dropped right next to you, and you can't even begin to evade them, now add that x2 CVs.

If they have a CV, you have a CV. Not they have two you have one, or they have one, and you have none.

I did read the patch notes and saw that, but just thought I would mention it anyway.

Oh and put some AA guns on the Ishizuchi will ya, as soon as that things hits the water the CVs are after it because it is an easy mark.

Can't advance the Captain's skills and make good credits if you're sitting on the bottom in the first 3 minutes.

And Buff the Furutaka will ya.  What a steaming, stinking, POS.  45 seconds for 180 degrees turret rotation in a Cruiser with no armor..........COME ON

you really should read the patch notes for 0.4.1 sometime

What bothers me the most are updates.

Even Riot Games is more efficient and better than Wargaming

whining about an issue already addressed in the next patch

is not constructive

Actually they do have a problem, not just in NA either.  The games pacing (too slow) isn't to the liking of many of the WoT base and the genre players (fresh blood) are more into a simulations.

Oh I think it will get better especially after talking to a few here at the player gathering in Seattle after the PAX convention. I believe that the player base will start to grow as more content is released and the word gets out. as of 11:45pm my time thier are 6200 player on line and for a Sunday night I dont feel thats too bad

You have to remember this game is still early in its release and exposure to the public. I believe the game will continue to grow and thrive if nurtured the right way by WGNA. I love the game and there are very few things that I think need to be adjusted. The one thing that I do believe will help the game grow is a great marketing campaign and the consistent release of new ship lines and premiums.

Waiting for 4.1.

Exactly what I'm doing. I really want to like the game but here's why I quit playing until some changes are made (if the game doesn't die like WoWP) :

  • Economy, why grind up just to have to grind back down for $$
  • Balance: same gripes as many others, Why have low tier CV's be so blatantly OP.
  • BB's: I can't put my finger on this one, I REALLY want to like BB's and really do i guess. However, lower tier BB's are a cluster fook. Zero skill is required in aiming because its all RNG whether you hit or not (this really turns me off). They're just basically xp farms for CV's and CA's.
  • Draws: This crap has gotta go. No competitive player is going to hang around a game that makes them spend 20 minutes in it for a draw.... period.

In theory the game sounds fun... fleets working together: Cruisers flanking BB's, BB's being primary Firepower, CV's needing protecting while supporting the fleet, DD's out front spotting and torping. The problem is the flow of the game is much slower than WoT. If you get out of position you are fook'd, in tanks you can often recover from this. If you find yourself on the opposite side of the map because your team split up and the enemy team didn't.... it takes waaaay too long to have fun and fight. For the game to be a home run like WoT it needs tons more action and entertainment for players.

I'm afraid WoWs will literally have the OPPOSITE PROBLEM OF WoWP. In WoWP it was fast, aggressive play with a high skill ceiling. WoWs is very slow with a very low skill ceiling due to RNG. WoT seems to be the middle ground, I honestly wont be surprised if warships dies like warplanes did.

Once the chills arrive and WG throws money at advertising, expect more people.

This game is a hell of a lot easier to learn and play than WoT.
