Option to turn off island auto pilot?

Am i missing this or does it not exist?

 

It dose not happen often but its game breaking when it does. Just now i was in an amazing fight 1v2. my DD vs 2DD and just finished killing one and was not beating the other one down. He launches torps and i dodge them, or so i think. My ship starts turning the opposite way back into the torps and i die.

 

There has got to be some way to disable that damn autopilot around islands.

Already exists. Turn off "Collision Avoidance System" in the Controls part of the game Settings.
