Please fix the Tier 3 Battleships

I've been agonizingly trying to get through games with this horrible ship (Kawachi).  If I get a single kill, it's an extraordinarily successful game.  This ship moves at a snail's pace, the range is only 8.9 km, which is outranged by most other things, it maneuvers slower than an octogenarian with a 200 lb walker and its horrendously inaccurate.  I realize this is beta, so this is why I'm submitting this feedback.  This is too many weaknesses for one ship.  Please, either speed it up, make it more accurate or make it reload faster.  I beg you.

 all BBs inaccurate. its to balance out their extreme alpha,  high hp. and high armor(tier 6+)

 

and the reload is also low to stop this massive alpha(if you hit a citadel)

 

range increases at later tiers.  

 

but they tend to stay slow as its a BB

 

 

if you don't like being slow, or inaccurate, or slow rof

 

then go play DD(fast, high potential dmg)

or cruiser(accurate, medium speed, decent rof to great)

 

 

BB is the tank of the 3 (hp, armor, high alpha(provided you hit the citadel) and hp recovery)

 

each has their own appeal

This I agree with completely. At the very least they need their MM spread reduced to +2, the things are turds and are terrible for new player experience.

The Kawachi is balanced by placing her at the same tier as the equally horrible South Carolina.

Not that it makes her less frustrating mind you.

Especially with all the flamethrowing cruisers at that tier.

heres a better idea

 

make it so new players can't play them.

 

make them ahve to get to level 5 or 7 before they can touch them.

 

then we can have less BBabies

Here's another idea. 

 

If you find playing the tier 3 BB's too difficult in Random battles, grind them in 8v8 PvE co-op battles against the bots.

 

 

Honestly though, I find it amusing and appalling at the same time that people have so little imagination that they can't figure out how to use a ship with lower range than higher tier ships on these various maps littered with islands.  It's NOT that hard!!!

It's not bad. I personally, think they should just buff the range a bit and that's it. It's tier 3. You're not going to play it very long.

They just need to increase the range IMO. 

 

Merely equalizing the range makes Kawachi OP relative to South Carolina given all the other advantages that it has. You have to give something back from Kawachi to keep it close with the South Carolina. You can't give Kawachi better guns and still allow it to keep it's HP advantage, it's speed advantage, it's numerical advantage in guns, concealment advantage, and maneuverability advantage. So what are you willing to give back to extend the range of it's guns?

If my Kawachi was being put up against other Kawachis and South Carolinas that would be fine, but in practice I am put up against New Mexicos, New Yorks, Fusos and Kongos.  These matchups do not end well.

 

Only once have I been put in a T3 fight in the Kawachi, all other fights have been T6.

I expected the hate, I'm not playing the kawachi to play a battleship, you're right, I don't like the way battleships play, but at least the myogi has range.  I'm only in this line to get to carriers (another concept that is a little warped, forcing players into a style they don't necessarily enjoy to try a totally unrelated style).  My point stands, the tier 3 battleships feel like a punishment rather than a style of play, the only way you have any success at all is by getting up close and personal, then yeah, you can do some serious damage, but it's so god awfully slow.  It's not THAT good up close.  The "it's a tier 3, what do you expect" excuse doesn't cut it for me.  I've had fun on most of the other ships I've played (including tiers 1, 2 & 3), there's no good excuse for a ship to be so woefully underpowered.

If you want to battleship then play a cruiser first, learn the game and if you want to be competitive then either go Battleship or carrier.

They said they made tier 3 BBs bad to scare away people into the cruisers. At high tiers, BBs have much damage potential than cruisers and they don't want everyone to play a battleship. If you want to battleship then play a cruiser first, learn the game and if you want to be competitive then either go Battleship or carrier.

 

That would explain the bizarre shell flight paths at any range. Nothing shoots like that,_I don't care if its a smoothbore pirate ship.

You have to just blunder into range of those tier Vs and VIs and get some damage so that you get something from the match.

Tactics are useless and pretty much forget about winning.

In my final battle in the Kawachi I helped sink a Cleveland and Myogi, getting credit for both, and then pounded on and tanked another Cleveland long enough for an Aoba to kill it just after I went down.  We won the match even though the Fuso on my side of the map was AFK for the entire match, leaving our right wing to be fought by a couple DDs, CAs and a Tier 3 BB in a Tier 6 game.

 

It was my final game because it got me the points to research the Myogi, whereupon I immediately sold my Kawachi.
