I have been using the fighter, but just got the New Mexico and it has the spotter and no fighter option. Any do's and don't s?

I had no idea - seriously. But I will say this, and I found out just by dumb luck; my spotter plane lets me see over mountains to shoot at enemy ships that I couldn't see otherwise. But as for actually controlling it, if it can be done, I don't know how and would like to read about it.

It also gives an overhead view that lets you see the heading of the enemy slightly better. I personally hate using it because the increased range amounts means increased dispersion, plus I hate the angle of the view for aiming XD

I see it gives my guns range out to the max of my view acquisition range, at least on the New Mex. That is, the end of the white triangle radiating out from my ship on the mini map. Since it only stays up for 2 minutes, only launch it when you need it. Not sur if it would spot a DD, but otherwise just when I want to make a long shot. Don't launch it when the enemy fighter squadron is nearby. Gets shot down fast.

Don't launch it when the enemy fighter squadron is nearby. Gets shot down fast. It tells you how much it increases your range on the tool tip. And it acts as a normal plane, if a dd is close enough, it will spot it.

I - as many do - do not like the spotter view. Makes it harder to aim. I would prefer to have an option between a fighter and a spotter.

I had the angle also when it comes to shooting.

At first I hated the angle, but with a bit of practice it's certainly a powerful tool. Those oblique angle shots become a piece of cake.

I launch it and then it starts going behind me and wastes time. It would be nice to designate a direction...Like GO FORWARD straight that my ship is pointing? would be nice. Most of the time the spotter will eventualy explore the areas infront of you but its AI is kinky. I would like to see some kind of simple control of where I WANT it to go to maximize my investment! lol!!
