1.5 minutes of no fun is no fun.

When that happen and you know you won't have a figthing chance for that long I end up going back to port.

I could allways try to shoot 1-2 more shots, Go to the toilet, Make food or enjoy my GF.

It's to "simulate" the rather lengthy process of fixing an actual jammed rudder, blown engine, gaping hole in the side of your ship, and inferno.

And that is why you don't use your damage control party unless you know you will not be taking any more fire.

Why have the ability on close range brawler battleship then? ;)

Ofcourse.. But playability and fun suffer badly under it. I don't play Word of anything for a simulation. Fast arcadey battle with easy playability for fun.

Be a good goy and buy the T2 repair party skill.

Thats ok to do. Still.. Passive skills increases on repairs is again invalidated totally by game play design.

Oh and how do shots deviate so much on the horizontal plane when they are fitted parallelly?

Because WG apparently doesn't understand naval artillery mechanics.

Yeah, sometimes is OK to get crippling effects. Repeatedly, to the point of more crippled than engaged is discouraging. It leads me to just try ramming any other nearby ship to end the match and head to port. Like poster above said, in it to play and have fun, not sit immobile and be a sitting target. If I wanted realism....well, let's just say the nearby lake with a 300 mile long shoreline is quite popular with boaters.

I totally agree.  In every game over the last few days in destroyers or cruisers my steering gear or rudder has been disabled at least 3 times per game.  I also agree that I'm not playing a simulation and being a sitting duck while waiting for my repair timer is absolutely no fun...especially when it happens 3-4 times per match!  I happily spend money on games like this, but not going to be doing so much longer if this problem isn't fixed...it's not fun at all, just frustrating.

Same here. They must have introduced a bug in damage. I lose steering or power several times per game with almost any hit.

Tonight I was in a Farragut and lost steering because of a "hit"  but my hit points did not drop. Good trick.

Adding this, was just in a game and lost power 4 times but survived because not of the hits was otherwise devastating (which is the problem) and there were distractions for the enemy while I sat there.

Other complaint is that when another dd sees you, everyone in the world can shoot you, including Clevelands god knows how far away. Have seen shots from well over 10k.

A last grip is that smoke screens are mostly useless now.

Another night of this crap. This critical engine damage or loss of steering (less often) happens several times a game any time an enemy looks at you. Accounted for all the times I got killed. Someone 10km away then kills you. Reducing torp range and increasing visibility of dd's made some send. This nerfing has gone too far.
