Abuse of chat

Had a match earlier and noticed a player with an interesting nick that was in line with a topic I personally knew.

Commented on it and tried to give him some insight through text messages. I wasn't spamming at all but after just a couple messages I was threatened to be reported for abusing chat. Really? 

 

There were two players one of which with noticeably bad English who were rude to another player whom they thought was the one to blame for a bad match. They were also rude to the team in general.

 

Anyway what struck me odd is that the player on the receiving end of abuse started threatening that the server was in full effect of EULA and it was considered a test server and that the chat was not to be abused. He began to change his tone toward the end but I suppose that was because he knew the chat log was going to be looked at.

 

Now, I'm against people abusing other people be it in RL or in game but to go around throwing your weight like that really turns off my sympathy.

 

I read the pinned Rules on Game and it was mentioned the chat was not to be used to post nonsensical messages. But who is to judge what is sensical and nonsensical? Do jokes count as nonsensical? I'm not anti establishment or rules but rules are made for the benefit of the community as a whole. By not spamming the chat and threatened to be reported really upsets me much. I pay no respect to nonsensical rules in RL and online I don't care if it was a king or lawmakers who made them whatever penalty.

 

Now, to be clear I didn't recall the full list of people who threatened me for my text messages but I know two of the mentioned abusive players were among them.

Chat abuse is all over and I do not think it will be fixed ever. Though I can think of some usernames that should not really be allowed since this game is rate E. Wish it was T since they would add some of the bravest mother truckers to the ships that waltz around like nothing is going on in a crap storm. Battlestations Pacific anyone?

Well, I never really tried Battlestations.

 

How I wish this game to have historical mode (be it PvP or PvE) but knowing WG it may never ever happen.

I've seen very little of this,   not near the level of WoT's.    Guess maybe I'm getting into the good battles from a chat perspective.  Usually starts when one player throws the gauntlet down to the other.   There is usually a good way to talk to a fellow player if there is an issue.   Instead of throwing out the school yard language.
