That is not giving a sh-t. My win rate has collapsed from 65% to sub 30% (27% I think atm), I used to care about the stats and results and was annoyed when my team was constantly roflstomped. My friend quit the game after his awful runs and days of losing. He just said he never felt happy after a session of WoW, always quit feeling annoyed. I can understand him, hell I'm 10+ losses straight today still chasing that dam x2 bonus for all my ships (lol) but I don't let it bother me. In WoT I cared a lot about stats but looking back I'm not sure why....  Trying to look good on XVM for other players I don't know or care about.

I deleted this game last week when my mate quit but thought about it and decided to reinstall and play a bit longer, seem to be enjoying it more now that I just laugh when my team is annihilated in the first  4 minutes or when a single torpedo sinks me, it doesn't effect anything and its just a luck based arcade shooter with boats.

Winrate is a meaningless metric and really should be removed.  Everything else can stay though.  Not giving a damn works wonders because you're now focusing on getting better, doing damage, and contributing to objectives.  Or you can continue not caring and just press buttons.  It's a game just try to have fun with it.  The whole WoT statwaving just makes the environment toxic and turns this game into more of a chore instead of something relaxing.  Kudos on you for opening your eyes to the fact that this is just a game not a job interview for clan wars.

Winrate is a meaningless metric and really should be removed.

Why? To appease the people that (a) desperately want to feel accomplished via video game stats (b) can't play well? You do realize, that flaming/trolling won't go away if you remove the access to win rate.

PS And it's not meaningless, and has a pretty good correlation with player skill for a sufficiently large sample (over at least ~few hundred battles)

Well I've gone 15 losses straight in the Phoenix IV this morning chasing that dam X2. finally given up as its not going to happen (4 kills last game as well, meh). I spose its the equivalent of tossing a coin 15 times in the air and having it land on heads each time, highly unlikely but possible, The old me would've rage quit but I just laugh about it now:)

Assuming that the coin is "fair", the probability is 3e-5.

But in this case, that's not likely to be true. First of all, your skill is probably above or below that of an average player, and secondly, phoenix probably isn't at perfect balance to the general population of ships present in the MM queue.

I honestly have never given a crapabout stats or anything like that. I play games to have fun and blow crapup. I really get irritated at people who think that stats in a video mean ANYTHING in this world. Your pixal ship stats will mean jack fricking squat to an employer when you're applying for a job so you pay rent. You're landlord will not give a rat's [edited]about how many kills you have in X or Y tank or ship. They'll just want your rent check.

I seriously wish we could go back to the days, before CoD and BF4 mp, and you would sit down and play a video game because it was FUN and stats didn't mean crap. I wish people would just sit back, have fun, help their team mates out, teach people how to properly play, and enjoy the damn game.

Yeah. It sucks to lose a game. It sucks when you load into a match in you're favorite ship and get almost instantly vaporized from an enemy carrier. craphappens. That carrier obviously knew what he was doing. Complement him on his good job, and for getting the kill. Help your fellow players. Be their spotter for enemy planes, torps, ships, what ever.

Be a [edited]kid again and just have fun and enjoy the pretty colorful graphics.

As to the OP; [edited]preach it my friend. I have been getting loss after loss after loss today on random battles. My teams were constantly falling apart even though I was trying so damn hard to stay alive and kill ship and cause damage to enemy ships. But the whole time, I had that mentality to just enjoy the game and not give a crapabout my stats. Lol, after I quit this afternoon (I only give myself a few hours to play to go easy on my eyes) I checked my stats for randoms. 30% win rate lol I could not win a random battle at all today so I quit and played co-op. I still had fun either way. Had some good laughs with the enemy team, helped out a lonely BB after I got killed by an epic torp shot by an enemy carrier. (two TB squads on BOTH sides of my ship. No way I was getting out of that lol)

I dont care about stats and I can HONESTLY say, I'm having fun. I JUST wish the grind wasn't so fricking painful... >.<

Stats are great for self-improvement, as the Dunning-Kruger effect suggests that we have difficult in objectively judging our own competence (internet pseudoscience inflates the findings of the effect quite a bit btw). Like Dirty_Deeds said, stats can help you focus on individual weakspots, much like cable isolation machines can be used to work individual weak muscles so you can deadlift, squat, press, etc. better.

Beyond that it's not particularly useful, and if it people get angry or annoyed by it then the whole point of playing a game is ruined! Just my 2 cents.

But thats just the thing though. You'd get better naturally if you just played the game and people helped each other out. I've seen matches where someone asked for help with learning a control and got immediately laughed at and called a pleb or some other such [edited]. He got no help at all from anyone other than myself and then I got ridiculed for helping a teammate...

People complain all the time about how their team sucks ect ect. But at the same time, they dont try to help those same teammates out and help them learn. If people would stop being such high and mighty stat mongers and insulting and looking down at new-comers just because they're not sure how to fire torps or some other such thing, things would be a lot different....

Not everyone gets naturally better at the same pace; some need guidance; whether it comes from a teacher or a program really just depends on the needs of that individual. In theory I could become a tennis master through years of endless solo toil, but in practice all it really does it make bad form permanent (as the coach likes to say, practice makes permanent). Feedback goes a long way.

On a related note, a similar practice is done in baseball: moneyball. Statisticians correlate seemingly unrelated performance characteristics of players to win rates and have the players work on individual stats that seem to highly correlate with victory. Sometimes they need to pitch faster, or more strangely, they need to increase the rate of getting to second base, rate of catching balls between 1st and second but not second and third, etc.

Haven't played in a while but they have a two tier radial menu where you can mark the minimap , allies or enemies and have the highlights appear on the map and in the chat window.  Simple stuff but very handy like "<player name> follow me", "Affirmative", "Negative" etc.  Once you get used to the radial menu, it becomes second nature.   No need to stop what you are doing and type in a chat window.

Oh, ok. Yeah, it'd be useful -- though the value of that in pub games isnt that high. Also, typing in chat is no big deal, since this game is a lot slower-paced.

WT has something a lot like that. I was teaching myself how to use it recently and it seems to be pretty well made. Would LOVE something like that in this game as well. And maybe also with the ability to choose what your commander sounds like. I.e, male or female. (WT again has that feature and I really do like it)

Not all the time. If you're in the middle of a group of ships and are trying to dodge incoming torps, rounds, other ships, you most likely not have the time to type in chat, even a couple words or letters even. And some people cant type very fast and keep it legible so other people know wth they're talking about lol

I dunno..I play solo all the whole time and still remain with a decent win rate.  Of course, I try to prevent draws if I can, so that may have something to do with it.

I stopped playing for a while because I couldn't win.

I'd have multiple games in a row in my Omaha where I would sink 3 or 4 ships, capture a point, and defend another and then end up like 6 vs 1.

I feel like I get put on teams that don't know the difference between their ships and a potato.

I'm on the Asia server.

I was looking you up because I wanted to see your really bad win rate, and how many games you played.  If your win rate is 27 percent, you have either played very few games or you are seriously doing something wrong.

Curious, does the asia server have a forum?

I like you...you get it. When gamers became this autistic, uptight, spoiled, entitled group of babies is way beyond me.
