I think stock ships need to have alternate matchmaking to upgraded ships

i have a stock fuso at the moment.Like most stock ships it is a pain to grind out but making this grind even more painful is the matchmaking i am forced to endure. i was put up against a iowa last night as a example now the ww2 refit of fuso with increased range may have a chance against a iowa but not a stock fuso. On top of that it keeps putting me on maps where if you only go 20 knotts like a stock fuso your gonna have a bad time by the time i caught up to my team they killed everyone and won and i got nothing from it because of my 12 km range and 20 knott speed. Alot of ships stock suffer and are painful to grind through i think being stock should give you better matchmaking to your ships abilities

So you were in a battle with just you and the Iowa? That's kinda strange. Normally battles have full teams with WIDE ranges of guns and all at different levels of advancement. But I see your point in a 1 on 1 battle like the one you were in, you really need a boost. Maybe WG can attach some sort of special needs tags to you so your ships get really great bonus or other benefits that no one else can get. Sound fair? I hope your boo boo gets better soon

Well I will say this...out of all the ships I have played so far (both pre and post-CBT wipe) I think the change from the awesome Kongou to the disaster stock Fuso was the hardest change. Kongou is this awesome battlecruiser-turned-battleship that has cruiser speed with bb guns and armour.....going from that to the basic Fuso is a bit like going from sober to piss drunk in 1/2 a second...its kind of an extreme shock.

I do think I would support this idea, if WG could ever get it implemented CORRECTLY...but that's a big IF.

i was one of 3 tier 6 ships in that the other ones were Cleavland fully upgraded. Most of the enemy team was tier 8 and 9 ships

....people like you are why everyone hates WoT. Don't bring that crappy attitude to WoWs. Either learn how to act like an adult, or go back to the tank from whence you came. Arigato!

Are you kidding? That's deliberate design. They give you a ship that's objectively a downgrade and hope it annoys you enough to convert free exp, or buy credits, or buy premium to skip past it.

Giving stock ships separate matchmaking would remove the incentive to skip them, AND at the same time cost development money to implement.

Lose Lose for WG.

Forget the fact that it'll make your customers happy.....actually you CAN forget that; there's so many more 'features' that are frustrating that fixing this one won't get you very far.

Edit: More on topic for OP's post, I suggested that stock ships simply be treated as lower tier. A stock Fuso would be given T5 MM instead of T6, stock Nagato would be considered T6, etc.

A seperate stock MM queue might present population issues, as people tend to not stay stock for very long.

In WoT stock tanks DO get relaxed match making, no idea if anything similar exists here or not.

While this wouldn't be a bad thing to see, it probably wont be implemented until we are able to research every one of the nation's tech trees. They will have to balance the stock ships around how powerful their base guns are, number of guns and how effective they are at the tiers they see, as some are more useful stock than others. By comparing this to each ship in the game at the same tier, and the fully upgraded ships before it, they would be able to fix the mm this way.

But at the same time, you may buy one upgrade (say the engine upgrade for a bb) first and it will stop being stock, and therefore get the high tier mm, with the stock features, as i'm sure 90% of your complaint is about the range difference on stock bb's compared to non-stock.

Who are you trying to convince? When I first got my M36 Jackson, it was instantly tossed in a tier 8 battle totally stock, the first time I ever used it. No equipment upgrades, modules or, anything extra. Bought it, clicked on battle and tier 8 is what I got.  I don't call that relaxed MM at all and it still gets tossed into them to this day. I very rarely see anything lower than tier 8 in 90% of the time I use it.

While it does suck to play stock, instead of complaining and moaning about it......you could do what 99% of us do already.....suck it up! :playing:                This game is already easy enough, without having to "dumb" it down even more.......you want easy mode? Go play WOW.....

I don't need to convince anyone, it was answered in some Q&A. I said relaxed and not preferred for a reason, it is still entirely possible to end up in a full 2 spread game on the bottom. It is not the same as the preferred match making with reduced tier spread some tanks get.

They don't. When you buy a newly researched tank you get 10 battles of relaxed matchmaking, whether you're stock or not, and if you can get through any stock tank above tier 4 in under 10 battles my hat is off to you.

If you want your stock ship to go against another stock ship... play Co-Op mode. All the AI bots are stock ships. That is why you get less XP & Credits.

Well i guess putting a real complaint and issue up on the fourms no one seems to want it fixed this is why the devs will not fix it. Because when someone post a legitimate problem they get told to deal with it. This is beta things can change and can be fixed and this game is not easy its fun its a good challenge and i enjoy it a ton i just feel a few things need tweaks to make them more enjoyable and less of oh dear not another one of these moments.

90% of my E8 battles in WoT is when we didn't have this cushy MM. Try fighting a Maus in a E8 and tell me how well YOU do.

And people like you and the OP are what's wrong with the world we live in today. You want everything to go YOUR WAY, RIGHT NOW. Well here's a bit of information for you , THE WORLD IS NOT FAIR. This whole "I'm entitled", 'Me, me, ME" generation is sickening. You want something better then what you have now, EARN IT!!. You want to be as good or better then the other guy? WORK HARDER!!! A bunch of do nothing slacker [edited]cry babies that don't want to put in the work to improve, just want to sit back and have things HANDED to them. MM gave you the same amount of ships (normally) as the other side so use what yo got. That Iowa guy put in his work to get to where he is, so should you.

Where the hell would we be if this way of thinking was the generation tasked to stand up to Nazi Germany? There would be a whole lot more people speaking German, that's for sure. Awww man, that Hitler guy has better tanks. What the hell? Those Japanese have better ships. Oh well we better not fight them. Fair? What commander in his right mind tells his logistics officers "He guys, the enemy is out gunned and out numbered, lets leave some of this gear behind because that wouldn't be fair" :sceptic:

If people had this sit back and wait for it to be GIVEN TO ME attitude, we would still be in the stone age. Some guy got tired of burning his feet and invented shoes. Someone said "I wish there was a better way of moving things besides dragging it everywhere" and that guy invented the wheel. Someone said "I wish I could get a message to my grandma faster" and that guy invented the telegraph. Someone was not happy with the telegraph and invented the telephone. Some guy was tired of walking and invented the car. You see where I'm going with this? Probably not because you want the answer fed to you. Well keep reading because I will give you the answer.

ANYTHING WORTH HAVING IS WORTH EARNING. HOW MUCH SWEETER IS VICTORY EARN OVER VICTORY GIVEN?

Putting it up on the forums puts it up for discussion for others. If you wanted a set of straight results from it your post would have a poll attached to it. Doesn;t mean the dev's don't look at it though, but I'm sure if they did most opinions would be considered too.

Most people won't see this as a real complaint.  It doesn't happen all the time, for the most part.  As more people join the game and play, this sort of pairing will happen more rarely.

But keep in mind that battleships can see up to 4 tiers above them.  So this will happen from time to time.

The reason why some folks are a bit unkind is that this complaint has been brought up many times in the past.  They've seen it before, and it's the same old complaint.

And yes, it's beta, but a change like you're suggesting is not going to happen.  Not at this point of the game, but if there is enough complaint about it, they might take steps to change it.

This thread is an excellent example of how the lack of downvotes makes the community more toxic. The internet has no short supply of instant sociopaths (just add anonymity!) and it's not hard to find one person willing to be obnoxious and two others who want to pile on... even when most of us only had one downvote a day, that was enough to stop those kinds of posts from having a green number in the corner. Now at a glance it looks like that sort of post is more legitimate.

TL;DR? Go away, Saceur.

I see lot's of you want a really difficult game.

You know who doesn't want ridiculously difficult entertainment? Most of the casual market.

Which is where the big money in F2P is.

Some people won't just 'deal with' being given a crap ship every time they climb a tier.

They will see it as the slap to the face it is, and either leave the game (bad for everyone who's staying) or just refuse to spend (more) money (bad for WG).

PvE has the same costs as normal for reduced reward. Try doing that with a higher tier ship and you're likely to come out negative in credits.

You're right, which is why F2P started showing the final score to include with and without Prem numbers to entice you to get the prem. There's nothing wrong with that but what the OP wants is EASY MODE for his shinny new ship. Stock ships and tanks for the most part are basically first or 2nd upgrade for the previous ship/tank. If not, then you'd have some guy two tiers below you complaining that HE now wants special MM and treatment.

WG brought out a mode to show people what it would be like if EVERYONE was equal or the exact same so players would stop complaining about MM but most people were to blind to see KARL for what it truly was.

I removed the image of someone getting some sense knocked into them,  hope these words don't insult anybody

Have you ever played a stock Fuso?

You have the massive hitbox, huge citadels, and subpar armour of an IJN warship, combined with the stock lack of AA, combined with the USN's lolsy dispersion, slow speed, and short range.

Any competent cruiser or battleship, even the ones below it's tier, let alone higher tier ones with literally double her range, can kite a stock Fuso easily.
