822 BURN_Miner Members 3,010 posts 10,193 battles Report post #1 Posted August 15, 2015 (edited) Thought about this for a bit, what do people think about those that use the boarders as a hiding spot to avoid damage or even a hiding spot (DD's sometimes do this to force a draw due to visibility as well as damage avoidance), how about after a certain amount of time of continuous contact with the boarder, 10 seconds or so (the time is not important as it can be tweaked accordingly) the ship then starts to take damage, the longer it stays in contact, the more damage it takes. Now, if someone decides to try to cheat this, there is an internal cooldown to this as well. For instance a minute (again, time is not important as it can be tweaked accordingly through testing). But on both ends this would force the huggers to get off the boarder and stay off of it. I thought the problem was starting to go away as I hadn't seen it in a few days, but I was wrong. I saw it once yesterday, the guy ran straight for it to use it as what he called "a tactic", then saw it 3 times today. First 2 weren't so bad, but the 3rd time, the guy was using it as a force draw tactic. Just jamming "w'" into the boarder to try to avoid damage until the clock runs out. Perhaps the above implement would alleviate this. Thoughts? Feedback? Edited August 15, 2015 by BURN_Miner

I would make it so if a player is hugging the border and he's the last alive, then he doesn't count as being alive at all. That's very specific but it would at least curtain CVs from trying to obtain a draw.

Almost like AFK'rs in WoT at he start of the round. NF had such a script that did just the same saying you are leaving the battlefield, and a timer was ticking off until you were booted from the game. Same goes for aircraft. Do we really need another "do we really need another" response? There's already 300+ to the 30 or more threads? Ya, I did that. I didn't see an idea like mine posted, so I decided to bring this up. Sorry if you saw this as a problem. You didn't need to reply, let alone "click" on the thread...

That and that alone is why you didn't see it. /thread
