This is what happens when you force people to farm mid tiers for credits:

I have almost as much experience as EVERYONE on the enemy team combined.

I shredded the enemy Kuma, Tenryu, and Yubari in less than 30s while taking less than 20% HP damage myself. Exactly who is this fun for?

It's efficient for me since I'm just out to farm credits, but on the other side, you have 3 probably very pissed off people who didn't learn anything.

This example is a little on the extreme side, but games at low tiers where one or two players on each team completely dominate aren't exactly uncommon.

Population hasnt really budged. I'm hoping WG starts advertising or this game will go the way of WoWP with its dwindling numbers

Really odd as the EU server is just about the biggest and we haven't got any EU ships except the Warspite

I'll see you in my Aoba

There's competent people at every tier. Problem is, the game does a terrible job of teaching people about mechanics they might need as they advance. I've been sunked by Aoba's who know what they're doing.

I've also killed a full HP Pensacola in my 40% Omaha because I shot AP into his citadels while he threw HE at me.

This game just punishes bad players with losses and repair fees, while telling them nothing about how to improve. This game is frustrating enough with the grind and repair fees. Why add [edited]tutorials / mechanics teaching and seal clubbing to the mix?

I agree that the WG Advertising Dept. Could possibly step things up soon since the game is decent right now at least.

Otherwise they need more options to grind rather than popping in crappy MM matches Imo.

You know the winning team gets a big boost in experience, right?

The distribution in that match was very typical.

Yes, I'm aware.

The relevant portion is how often in mid tier games, one or two people will vastly outperform everyone else. Also, just because it's typical doesn't mean it's good.

Experienced players shredding newbies on a regular basis just makes fora lot of newbies who die without getting anything done.

Where is that neg repping option.  Hate it when people see the same point of view as me but using a positive up vote is too obvious.  Always had that view, hate getting dropped in WoT matches back in the day in a 450 hitpoit Sherman facing 1200-1500 hitpoint tanks that could fire 390 hit point AP shells (yeah, Sherman had the 105 HE thrower to demolisher the lower tier 3/4 tanks....if they stopped as the gun was not that accurate).

Same in Warships, I know I am not the best player but I do know some things...like the co op match I had an hour ago where I was just blowing off some steam and out of 8 people 1 guy went up the same side as me on the second lowest tier map (god I forget their names) while 6 other guys cuddled in behind an island capping...the other guy with me was killed off quickly but 6 guys stopped, hid in the behind islands while a couple of ships peppered them resetting cap and I killed 4 ships pretty much by myself in the Ark Beta.  Teaching moment to keep my angles, lead the shots and sparely use my repair...but holding off 6 ships until a few of the stupid AI bots drove away...yeah, shows you can do things if you try (where as the point is, in normal matches I feel over whelmed fast).  In some normal matches, I can perform well...but then you get annihilated and where is the fun in that?  Tried a couple matches in the Wyoming, I just left...to many carriers tonight and I personally don't trust other people to cover me with AA guns (I can dodge ok...but too many and its just impossibly depressing from the start, where as if I trusted people and felt more confident I would stick around more).  Co Op isn't impressive much, but because they are so accurate it helps a bit to teach you to get better....but in real matches cannot learn after you sink and burn if you die way to fast then it ends up match after match, especially when you cannot get your team to do much beyond spin in circles at max dispersion where they miss and don't want to push a side of a map.

Good points all around. I have seen a few ship drivers make the maximum in sinkings and damage while most of the team tends to either mill around or wander off. Winning and losing have less meaning if the results are a large group of frustrated folks and a few well satisfied players. The OP has a point. Even on the winning side I hate to just get sunk. Boy oh boy do we need clans - asap.
