Secondaries doing 70,000 damage in a 1v4

All I can say is the enemy ships were not doing the best they could have given the situation, and I should have died sooner.  But with the time I was given my secondaries put out a lot of damage (including fires they lit).

*Edit* I am using AP. My turrets were lined up when they shot.  Because I recorded this in a replay, I forgot to switch it to AP, and using free look causes some syncing issues with where your turrets actually are.

You are OP. Your stats are impossibru, because the people have spoken, BBs are "weak"!!

Please nerf yourself.

:D

Also, it's interesting you only fire HE rounds. O_o

What... your result has the damage from AP rounds but in the video you have HE loaded?!

nah, I forgot to switch it in the replay.  Thats why sometimes it doesn't look like my turrets are lined up when I shoot.  Replays are kinda funny that way.  It was all AP from main cannons...

Care to share your thoughts about Yamato vs Montana?

Maybe Amagi v NC, and Izumo v Iowa?

I notice your Yamato far out classes the Montana results. Not by a small margin but massively.

Other BBs are closer, Iowa obviously has the edge vs Izumo, but Yamato just makes Montana look weak based on your stats.

The Yamato shells can pen every other ship in game at any angle if you know how to aim, where as the Monty can not do the same damage against angled targets most of the time.

The Yamato armor seems to be much better against HE than the Montana is, so survive-ability wise the Yamato just last longer.

The Yamato is also more accurate without the accuracy mod, than the Montana is with the accuracy mod.

In a main gun fight, ignoring usefulness of AA/secondaries,  the Yamato can put out more consistent damage and can survive longer.

This is of course after they Buffed HE to the stupid levels it is at.  In CBT, my Montana had the stats my Yamato now has, and was my favorite ship, just slightly over the Yamato.

I just find I get wrecked to quickly in the Montana, which lowers my damage output do to time alive.

As for the other match ups, they seem pretty even, The Izumo can put out a ton of damage, but it doesn't have quite the armor the Iowa has.  Amagi to NC, its situational but pretty even

I see people often say the Montana has a larger citadel or its easier to citadel than Yamato so i guess it makes sense if your own play show Yamato surviving longer.

Time alive = more damage potential.

Kind of wish that the secondaries had that range at lower tiers. Not necessarily have to be to the extent of something like Yamato and Montana, but at least usable outside of extremely close quarters.

well, if your full broadside and counting the extra rear turret citadel, then yes it has a slightly larger one.

But I am talking about angling in, and still taking obscene damage from HE compared to the Yamato.   if your showing broadside, even a new mexico can citadel both ships easily enough.  I know from experience when I gave my Yamato broadside to a New Mexico because I was angling vs another Yamato.

God I love good secondaries...  You guys are right, t10 BB's do not need any buffs.

Now if we could get that kind of love tier 2-6 it would be perfect !

umm, they do need a slight buff, which is kinda represented in 4.1 with the 3km accuracy change.  But it really needs to be 4-5 km.  most suicide torp runs start at 5km, if you wait till 3km to shoot for accuracy, your already dead...  other than that, they do perform quite admirably.

Watching this is depressing, my montana takes damage akin to a destroyer, how is it so messed up!

one of the reasons I have stopped playing my Montana.  According to the armor model site, the Yamato has 5-10 times the armor on its superstructure and decking.  The HE shells don't get penetration damage like they do on the Monty

I learned the hard way, tried to suicide rush a yamato in my DD, didnt even get to 3 km, died from 100% to 0 from secondaries, he didnt even look at me with his main gun.

Awesome stuff Pickle, Thanks for sharing.

All I keep hearing people in game and on the forums say is how the Montana is just in overall bad shape and not many like playing it. Makes me sad.

Seems like Montana takes less damage from CV (due to 40% better AA shooting down more incoming planes) and Yamato takes less damage from ships.

Yeah, I rather take less damage from ships, especially all the damn HE spammers.

The torpedo bulge on the Yamato also allows it to take a ton of torps from CV.  plus the HP loss maximums that reduce damage done in the same way to the same part of the ship lessen the torp damage over time.

That said.  Eating a Midway 2 torp volley still takes 75% of your health even though your actively dodging, because CVs....  working as intended

Now if this was a carrier gameplay or a destroyer.. people would not like that and would call it OP nerf XD

What's even the point of the AP secondaries, they can't penetrate anything

before the AP nerf of 0.3.1, Nagato and her 140mm AP-firing lazers were the best secondaries in the game.  They smashed everything because at the time even bounces yielded some damage.  Now, they don't hurt what they can't pen.
