For those who say torpedoes require no skill...

It doesn't matter how many torpedoes you have, it's about how you use them. You can have the fanciest ship in the game, but experience will always prevail over a good ship. Don't expect higher tier ships to make the game easier, expect the higher tier ships to bring the better out of you. More maneuvers, more skill, more prediction. Destroyers reflect highly on the user's skill level, so if you're bad at it, practice will make it better.

Honestly, they're right.  In 95% of all situations, Torpedoes require absolutely no skill to hit and kill with.

The thing is?  It's not because of the Torpedoes.  Or the Destroyers.

The reason it's so easy to use Torpedoes?  Is because DAMMIT PEOPLE, YOU JUST KEEP SAILING IN A STRAIGHT LINE!!  TURN YOUR BLOODY SHIPS ONCE OR TWICE, AND THE PROBLEM GOES AWAY!!

Hitting with torpedoes certainly takes a lot less skill then hitting with guns and hitting well. Having no RNG to not detonate, no dispersion, and a lead indicator kinda makes life a lot easier. The only skill is doing it without being noticed.

Aye. I also like when people say "just turn once in a while", even when they haven't spotted a DD. That's like telling people to randomly go prone on the ground because you might get shot. Of course, when you see the destroyer and keep sailing a straight line, you might have issues and evasion is recommended.

I find IJN destroyers to be in a good spot right now. My main issue in regards to torps is manual drops from CVs...
