changed resolution and now black screen on start up

I was able to change the resolution to one better suited for my screen and now it goes to a black screen and I am not able to see anything.   Re-started the game...same result.  I have Windows 10 and just downloaded it to see if I would enjoy playing this game.  So far; not so good.   Any help?  If I have to re-download, it would not be worth it because I have already used quite a bit of my monthly allowance.  Wondering if this is really worth playing if it can't even work at the beginning.

I'm not at home right now so i can't tell you the exact file but there is a preferences files that has the resolution in it.  You can change the resolution there or delete the file and restart the game.

Delete Preferences file in your WoWS Folder and restart the client. Use your monitor's native resolution and have aspect ratio set to auto.

Go to C:\Games\World_of_Warships
locate the file preferences.xml

delete it and run the game.

That should bring things back to normal.

I am also having this problem but I haven't made changes to any of the graphics settings. I just tried to start up the game and it a black screen on startup. I deleted the preferences file and tried to restart but the only thing that happened was that it started in windowed mode but the windowed mode was also completely black. Are there any additional steps that I need to take?
