131 [DCMA] After__Effect Members 262 posts 8,402 battles Report post #1 Posted August 13, 2015 I have encountered many immature players who starts a civil war in chat. I happen to be a guy who does not want to interact with these kind of.... well, "players". Sometimes, just by glancing at chat reduces my intellect by half. Seriously, you will see momjokes, dead grandmama jokes, and all kinds of jokes like this. To keep this whole thing short, I hope World of warships implement option to disable chat. GIVE ME FREAKIN DIVISION CHAT. xD

Also, individuals that are consistently muted should be given automatic chat penalties.

3,709 Quaffer Alpha Tester, Alpha Tester 6,051 posts Report post #15 Posted August 13, 2015 Your poll is flawed. You need a vote in the secondary poll for folks that don't want to disable chat. You have to vote in both for it to register. I chose other. Disabling chat in a "team" game is not a good idea. Communications should matter. Add a mute player option instead.

If you disable chat, don't complain about dumb teammates or not getting escort. I ask, in my Atlanta, every game who wants escort.

725 [NEUTR] NeutralState Members 2,207 posts 11,692 battles Report post #19 Posted August 13, 2015 This game already has zero in game incentives for any kind of team orientated play and you want people to block the only method of effective communication with the team? Majority of the time when the player's ignoring the chat it is not due to abuse but willfully ignorance in listening to others. What disabling chat in a team of 12 means is that you want, from the start, not to work with other. That is just a horrific mind set in a team based competitive game. 873 [SCCC] Peregrinas Members 3,181 posts 17,515 battles Report post #20 Posted August 13, 2015 As others have said before me, it is a much, much better idea to have the ability to mute individuals as opposed to completely turning off chat. There are still plenty of individuals who will give you good suggestions or will try to coordinate with you. I can't imagine it if half the people turned off chat and they don't respond to your offer for escorting them or if you're the one asking for an escort. But I also want to add that muting someone should only be effective for the duration of the match. Next time you see them, you'd have to mute them again if they are saying dirty things. I admit that I sometimes let my mouth run off, but it doesn't mean that I'm always like that.

131 [DCMA] After__Effect Members 262 posts 8,402 battles Report post #22 Posted August 13, 2015 (edited) I was reading thoroughly through what you guys said and yes I do understand that this is a team game and communication is a crucial part of this game. I guess I was a bit ignorant by saying "oi, lets disable chats". However, I'd also want to say what I think and why I wanted to disable the chat. 1. it is disturbingly annoying and disturbing. 2. chat is part of communication. I know it. there are 3 types of chat in wows right now All Silent civil unrest between the red and blue nation or within the blue nation "co-operating" and I highly support my stance that I have seen more civil unrest and all silent than co-operating so I just though "why not just disable the chat?" 3. To be honest with all of you. I have serious trauma with r*pe..... Period so this is what I have in my mind. However, muteing a certain player seems to be a very good alternative option. Thx! 158 DEADTIME Members 322 posts Report post #23 Posted August 14, 2015 I'm suprised it's not already an option to at least minimize the chat area that's basic games 101. Not sure why anyone would want to deprive someone else the right to turn off something that disrupts their game. Those voting against it might be the same people who enjoy verbally disrupting others game expierence's. A simple chat in game on and off or the ability to drag it into a smaller area should have been part of the game since alpha.
112 GeneralVeers Beta Testers 642 posts Report post #24 Posted August 14, 2015 I rather just be able to block communications from the immature users like in WoT, if in general the chat is too noisy, yeah give us an option to toggle it off, but also I think we should still have filters so that people who are using the chat for in game coordination don't lose that teamwork ability cause one person is ruining the chat.
