Wargaming said that they are now considering subs. Also if we ban this, why not just ban, new ship speculation, fan art, ship complaining, torpedoes and crying about MM threads while we're at it. NO neg rep, but please think about before you post.

If they are going to allow DDs to play in a role they never once did in reality, then I think submarines would be perfect for the game and actually probably weak when compared to DDs and CVs as they likely wouldn't last very long. It would definitely provide an interesting new game mechanic in order to force players to use strategy instead of random-death-match playstyle.

But DDs have at least one advantage: speed. While submarines, when surfaced, barely move as fast as those USN "Standards" BBs. And most players in the game playing DDs aren't interested in playing ASW. If you really want subs, play Silent Hunter. And if you still think they should be included, see what they did to Navy Field (aka I think it lost more than half the players within a short time after introduction of subs).

I dunno man, I play DD's because its the closest thing I can GET to a sub right now. I'd LOVE to have one, it was the main reason I even got interested in WS over tanks, and was sad to see they didn't make it in. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions, even you with ur "silent hunter" comment, are entitled to it. Some of us dont WANT to play silent hunter or navy field because we are addicted to WG Games lol,  bring on the underwater sub vs sub action imho! And lets avoid trying to "ban" someone else's opinion.

Subs are an absolutely terrible idea and I'm sick of people asking for them.  Let's just put up a sticky saying "subs aren't gonna happen" and just delete all the threads asking for them, and be done with it.

I agree. As much as I love submarines, I don't think they would fit into this game. If people want to make threads on it, fine. Banning it is a bit much though. People should be allowed to express their opinion. Censorship on opinions that are not obscene, offensive, or insulting would be going too far.
