updating client

So newbie question. I just tried to play the game, but when I hit play it says "the currently installed version of the game is older than that of the server. Please update the client". ......................???????????????? sooooo where do I go to do that. do I have to uninstall and re download the whole thing again cause that would seriously suck!

Open the WoWS Launcher instead of the actual game.

The launcher, you mean where you download the game?....sorry like I said admitted newbie.

Go to where you installed the game, them open WoWSLauncher.exe instead of WorldofWarships.exe

went to where I downloaded game, just a big orange button saying download game, nothing there about wowslauncher.exe

I hit the big orange button and wows_internet_install_na.exe came up?

No, not where you downloaded the game.  Where the game files are located on your computer.  The launcher is a program that automatically makes sure your game version is current before opening the game and connecting to the game servers.  

 

There was a patch installed today, if you attempted to start the game during that time you would likely have received that same message and would be unable to connect to the patching server.  WG is bad about giving a heads up when this is going on unless you check the forums often.  Try again now, should work.

Nope, still not working. Dear god I have to search for files. This is gonna be ugly. Thanks for trying tho!

So did a file search, didn't find the exe as above, but did find a wows launcher, hit it and it seems to be updating so fingers crossed that will do the trick. Thanks all!
