So i'm at a crossroad....progression...two ship choices(POLL)

So i'm at a crossroad.   I have 80,000 free xp built up.....and i'm not sure which line to start really focusing on. 

 

The u.s. battleships, or the Japanese cruiser line.    My friend is currently in a Japanese tier 9 battleship, and i would be kinda accompanying him in a lot of my games.

Our biggest threat seems to be torpedo bombers.   But i'm not sure which ship would go best with his.    The u.s. battleship line, or the IJN cruiser line with the defensive AA consumable. 

(i know u.s. cruiser aa is best....but i just dont like american cruisers that much).

 

I either have to free xp the mogami....or the north carolina.     Opinions on which line would be best with his IJN battleship?

As much as I love Mogami, North Carolina leads you to Iowa. While NC is a great ship itself, you'll be closer to one of the best.

Mogami was so much fun in CBT but it sounds like it's getting a little nerf bat in terms of it's gun survivability.   I'm not a fan of BB play in this game right now so my vote goes to the Mogami... but the NC was fun for me in CBT as well.

i dont foresee the guns getting knocked out, as that much of an issue.   it rarely happens on my cleveland, and those are about as fragile as they get.   in general people dont have that good of aim lol....thankfully.

if you tap your keys too hard on your keyboard, the turrets on the atlanta break.  Cleveland's turrets are shielded in metre thick steel by comparison.

If you plan on grinding it all the way through to T10 I recommend North Carolina b/c Iowa is a great T9(and Ibuki is rather lackluster).

 

If you plan on having fun at T8 I definitely recommend 155 Mogami as it is a lot of fun landing 150-300 hits a game and spreading fire and destruction all around, I average 1 confederate or more per day in it.

But seriously, the USN are known for their decent AA so if you're worried about TB and DB, get the NC.

 

Also, cause the Iowa = condensed 'MURICA

Mogami is a great ship. Unfortunately it leads to ibuki...

 

Id go BB. At t9 and t10 battleships are the meta. T10 cruisers can be dangerous, just like t10 destroyers can be dangerous, but honestly if you want something thats ALWAYS dangerous, you want a battleship.

 

That said yamato is better than montana, just keep in mind.

 

In the current game i would easily recommend anyone who doesnt mind grinding through a kind of meh low tiers and a variably meh/bretty gud mid tier to go a battleship line. High tier DDs are really bad off overall, and i went cruiser because mogami mai waifu.

What  more NC, your all crazy. The mogami is one of the best ships in game and the NC being good is not great like the Mogami.  You will make way more money in the Mogami and sometime get over 200 shots a game. I had a Mogami in CBT and have a NC in OBT. US BB are not as fun as there IJN counterpart and if you do go NC  its dispersion forces you to get close  and always aim lower than you would ina  IJN BB because US BB arc is  not as flat.  

 

So back to the argument if you want to make more money and  a more diverse experience  drive a 155" Mogami

 

If you want a AA powerhouse  and a  good  BB go NC.   

 

There both good, but the Mogami is one of those ships that is REALLY good with  15x155mm  6 RPM  and TORPS she will bring home the bacon.

ended up "accidentally" purchasing the north carolina.    so i got stuck with that. haha.    

 

not overly impressed with the guns.    i'm firing full salvos and once in a while i'll get a 5k with AP.     But majority of the time. hitting cruisers, i'm getting like, 1k dmg.....kinda......ahem.  Crappy.

Both good choices and honestly it is what you want to play. What fits your play style more? I personally am grinding the IJN cruiser line and the US bb line.

In my personal opinion, while both are great choices, the North Carolina is a chance you best not pass up, the ship itself is amazing, and the ships after it are even better.

The Mogami is a really fun ship to drive and it has good firepower with torps and guns. Lots of players underestimate it.
