Whats with the FPS randomly dropping?

So, this has happened to me twice now. First time, i just thought my laptop was having trouble. But just 5 mins ago, I was playing running 50-60 fps, and out of no where it just dropped down to like 15-20 fps. I looked in chat and all the other players were having the same problem. Is this just a bug or what? I figured i would post about it to see who else has had the same problem.

Yeah, this happens to many people.  often within any single game, if it happens to one person, it will happen to many more over the remaining course of the battle.  After you die, it will spontaneously resume normal frame rate.
