Random question Ive had for some time.

What are they and what are they used for? They look like they're for ventilation or something but idk. Anyone know for sure?

Yes ventilation but the really small wall mounted ones were actually used for shouting up and down orders up deck and below.

They are "Flatulence Dispersion" tubes.  You don't want to be trapped below decks with that.

Basically those are the Air intakes for the lower decks and if the ship is Coal Burning the Boilers.
