Nerf RoF is understandable but now we still have the super slow turret rotation speed. can we have it at 30 sec?

They really do want to implant the "well once you get the Aoba it's basically the same ship with slight changes pretty much until the Zao."

The Myoko really was the only standout aside from the HE spammer Mogami....

Sounds to me like when the German cruisers arrive, pretty much my entire IJN cruiser fleet is getting pawned at Goldstein's pawnshop.

I'm curious, was the any number given for how much the rof will be dropped? If it becomes like the Atago with 3.5 rpm, I might just stop grinding in the Aoba and stick with her.

The Myoko and Atago will basically become the same ship...one just has a larger citadel and better torps...the IJN cruiser line is gonna get all forms of pointless.

It's literally like the American CA line. Hooray for slight upgrades that are welcome but take so much longer to get.

Better?

Most likely the 3.5 but without the rotation speed buff. :(

They said reload changed from 12 seconds to 14 seconds so 5 RoF to 4.3 RoF

I suppose a 40 seconds turret buff from 45 seconds would seems appropriate. Don't also the IJN HE nerf.. Myoukou will probably get it's % fire chance nerfed too.

Atago has 3.8 RPM

If Myoko has the same ROF, it would make sense because the Tier 7 Myoko can DPM the 203mm Mogami

Atago have 3.8 rpm and fastest turret rotation of any IJN 203 guns, If they keep rotation the same the most I see is ROF dropping to 4.3 rpm.  I'd gladly take 4 rpm if the rotation is 36" like Aoba/Ibuki though.

Hmm if that's the case, that 2 seconds worth of difference isn't worth holding off on getting her. The tier 2 captain skill which increases turret rotation speed as of right now allows us to achieve a 38 second 180 degree turn time. I think I'll still go for her since she's a beautiful ship and I'd be just fine getting the occasional match with her.

I'm also hoping the turret nerf for Mogami is only for the 155mm guns. The 203mm Mogami is far from OP or anything, especially with 14km range!

15.1 km range(up from 14.7 CBT range), Mogami's range was buffed when the CBT(3.3)->OBT(4.0) transition happened. Though overall the 8" Mogami did get nerfed as the ship's detection range went up from 10km to 12km.

Honestly planning to finish Myoko before patch then wait and see how bad the nerf to Mogami turrets is before proceeding.  If it's bad I'll probably just re-buy Aoba and play that for my IJN cruiser fix.  Ibuki is mediocre at best, Mogami without 155s being viable isn't special either.  Zao is nice but that amount of grind through uninteresting ships isn't reasonable to me.

This is the problem with the Des Moines too.

WG:  Would you like to play a Des Moines?  Good AA, autoloading 8in guns, is very good comrade!

You:  Yay! Yes I would!

WG: Ok, so all you have to do is grind through 3 tier of horrible and identical ships to get there.

You:  ... So tell me about those aircraft carriers again.

Why does it need compensation?  Historical ROF was 4.0 RPM, and it looks like you are getting 4.3 RPM.  Historical turret traverse time was 45 seconds for 180 degrees, which is what it currently is.  Myoko looks pretty close to what she SHOULD look like historically.

Across from you at T7 cruiser, you have the Pensacola which has quite a bit less HPs, slower speed, and no torps.  It looks to be fairly evenly matched up now ship for ship, so there's no balance reasons to increase turret rotation either, and I wouldn't be surprised if the Pensacola is replaced at T7 by the Northampton which will return to Myoko a fairly significant firepower advantage due to it only being a 9 gun ship.

It needs compensation because instead of having only one crappy Tier VII cruiser (Pensacola), now both cruisers are equally crappy! Yay!

Pensacola have always been able to out angle and beat a Myoko(longer citadel, worse turn performance, slower turret traverse) when both are fully upgraded. I feared no Myoko when I am in a Pensacola.

I realize that it may not feel like it for Myoko drivers, but having two crappy T7 CA is better than one crappy T7 CA and one great T7 CA.

We will see if the nerfs bring the Myoko down to Pensacola levels.  I would personally like to see the USN line improved rather than the IJN line nerfed.  it's almost like they're trying to force everyone into BB and CV T7+.  Well, Lolerado aside, but since the North Carolina and Iowa are both solid you have to eat a single tier of crap to get there.  That's a lot better than three tiers, especially when those tiers are 7-9.

I dunno, I don't feel that historical is necessarily a bad way to go. I'd like higher ROF and faster turret rotation too (why I was eagerly waiting for the Soviet ships), but I don't think that as they are planning, Myoko will be a bad ship.  It's still going to be much better than the Aoba, be an even fight for a Pensacola and wreck Atlantas.  It's still a clear upgrade from the ships before it.

People dont understand how much better myokos 203s are compared to mogami and ibukis. They arent the same gun.

Its still going to be the best 203 platform before zao

I dont know how atagos 203s perform since ive not played it, but they could cut myokos rate of fire in half and it would still citadel more enemy cruisers than ibuki.

Aoba and myokos guns are just so good i think people think its normal. Its true IJN cruisers have a lot of weaknessess and its all well and good they have things to compensate. I would like mogami and ibukis 203s to not be so horrible. But even after this change myoko is going to be a golden ship and a high point of the line.

If im reading this new ranked game mode right, that is only for t6 and t7 ships, i can kind of see why they would nerf myoko. But honestly what they need to do now, is copy and paste myokos invisible stats mogami and ibukis 203 so they can perform as well. The line would feel like a smooth progression of increasing power then. I dont know why the higher cruisers guns just dont work as well, but against the same targets (atlantas and atagos and other assorted t7-9 cruisers) they are just nowhere near as reliable at citadeling.

In real life, they all had the same 203mm gun and only the mounts differed.
