What are the numbers beside some players on the match making screen? Looks like a shield with either a 1 or 2 (so far) within.

It means they are in a division.

It means they are in a division. Each number means a certain division on the team, the first division(ex. three Myokos) would be marked with 1, while the second (3 Pensacolas) would be marked with the number 2.
