Unlike with torpedo bombers, where the advantage is obvious, is there an advantage to manual dive bombing? When I have dive bombed, I have been just clicking and allowing them to go auto. I have not tried manual, as to me it seems like it wouldn't be much different. Am I wrong?

The spread is tighter increasing the odds of more hits and therefore more fires. It's a lot harder to do so at least for me I limit it to BBs and CVs that aren't maneuvering. Otherwise I stick to auto DB drops.

should all ways try to manual to use manual dive bombing as it makes the spread a lot tighter (the only time you should avoid it is on DDs which are turning like mad and you have no other option but to db them)

the problem with manual dive bombing is you start to notice bugs like DBs not all ways carrying bombs. (might be due to a high ping at times which stops them droping) You can bomb a none moving cv with a spread smaller than the ship and somtimes get 0 hits.

I've found the inconsistency makes using them on CA/CL a bad idea. A complete whiff hurts bad so I'd rather land 1 bomb than none on a smaller target.
