Level 5 are all useless for a BB

Last Chance:

If you are down to 20% then those 3 second saved on reload won't help except in a very few specific situations.

Preventive Maintenance:

I don't really have a lot of module damage.

Concealment Expert:

You want to sneak up in a BB? And then? Your are visible in the moment you fire and you won't make it out anymore. Besides without shooting no damage and XP/Credits.

Air Supremacy:

I am not a carrier.

Jack of all Trades:

10% of a long time is still a long time. So if you are in trouble it won't save you.

Level 4 are almost useless

I picked

Advanced Firing Training: 4 Points

Demolition Expert:

The fire rate is not high enough.

Last Stand:

I don't loose steering/engine often enough to consider this.

Aircraft Servicing Expert:

I am not a carrier.

So that leaves me with 15 points I have to put into the first 3 levels.

Level 1

I picked

Basic Firing Training: 1 Point

Basics of Survivability: 1 Point

Expert Loader:

I almost exclusively use AP on all targets and if I switch I know that in advance. No need to switch ammo early.

Situation Awareness:

Anything that spots you triggers it, so after a while you just ignore it. Only if you are in a lonely corner it can indicate a DD and then you still don't know where it is, besides what, are you doing in a corner.

Expert Rear Gunner:

I am not a carrier.

Level 2

I picked

Expert Marksman: 2 Points

Fire Prevention: 2 Points

(Don't want it, but I had to pick something. If it works then I have not noticed it.)

Torpedo Armament Expertise:

I am a BB.

Incoming Fire Alert:

There is always something coming in and if not you are doing something wrong.

Level 3

I picked

Superintendent: 3 Points

High Alert: 3 Points

Vigilance: 3 Points

(Don't want it, but I had to pick something. If it works then I have not noticed it.)

Dogfighting Expert:

Well I am not a carrier.

Skipping advanced firing training in a BB would be silly, why would you not want 20% AA and secondary gun range. I also find it interesting you would take high alert and then call jack of all trades useless. I quite often am starting a repair the moment it comes off cool down and would gladly take a 10% reduction. Along with it you get a 20% reduction on damage control CD if you already took high alert, how is that not good?

Personally for the total of 19 points I would take;

1: Basic firing training + basics of survivability

2: Aiming expert

3: Superintendent + high alert

4: Advance firing training

5: Jack of all trades

If people want a more serious and useful breakdown of the utility of the skills I would suggest looking here: http://forum.wotlabs.net/index.php?/topic/20884-onboard-reviews-the-crew-skills/

BBs should follow the same style as heavy tanks in WoT. Choose all survivability skills.

Statistically, minus chance to certain damage translates to the same percent in damage reduction in the long term. Vice versa for +% damage skills. For example, +1% crit = +1% damage in the long run.

Choose your play style and go from there. In the long run, statistics will even find its own way.
