From: http://www.theguardian.com/technology/2015/jul/31/windows-10-microsoft-faces-criticism-over-privacy-default-settings

"Hundreds of commenters on sites such as Hacker News and Reddit have criticised default settings that send personal information to Microsoft, use bandwidth to upload data to other computers running the operating system, share Wi-Fi passwords with online friends and remove the ability to opt out of security updates."

So, it may be using your connection to send stuff. It might be making your game laggy. You wouldn't really know if/when it's interfering. Note that I've never played with it so I don't know whether it's possible to disable all that stuff.

Also, some other important information that you should know about Windows 10:

"collects and uses various types of data, such as your device location, data from your calendar, the apps you use, data from your emails and text messages, who you call, your contacts and how often you interact with them on your device"

"Microsoft basically grants itself very broad rights to collect everything you do, say and write with and on your devices in order to sell more targeted advertising or to sell your data to third parties"

They'd have to pay me to upgrade downgrade to windows 10.

Windows 10 is specifically designed to spy on you by default.  Every keystroke monitored.  Every webpage logged.  Every email retained.  Every program observed.

If Big Brother wants info on what you've been doing on Windows 10, they give it to Big Brother.

Dangerous times we're living in....Papers please.

Sieg Heil!

Yea.. did you think they would just give it to you for free?  Windows 10 is not the product, YOU are.   But the fix is easy, do NOT make a MS account on install do custom and turn off EVERYTHING.  After that there is still more "features to hunt down and disable.   What you are left with is light and fast and can run on a dam tablet just fine so it is perfect for games.    I have found Win 10 light and fast and it does not get in my way, it might be the best windows ever after you kill off all the extra junk.

Windows 10 uses WUDO.  Turn it OFF!

From the Artical:

The benefit of WUDO is that once one Windows 10 device has downloaded the latest updates it will automatically distribute them to other PCs on your network, saving time. The problem is your PC will also start to share this update with other PCs around the world that still need it. This takes the pressure off Microsoft’s servers but also means Windows 10 will consume more of your bandwidth than Windows 7 or Windows 8, neither of which do this.

The good news for those on metered connections is this can be changed by going to:

Settings > Update & Security > the Windows Update section > Advanced options
Select PCs on my local network only for WUDO to only be used for your PCs, or
Switch it off so each PC has to get their own downloads
While the option to disable is nice, WUDO is another example of where Microsoft should be more transparent with Windows 10 and let them know upfront what their devices will be doing behind their backs by default.

      Hope this helps some!
