Moving from Co-op to randoms.

At what point or skill level would you switch from co-op to random? I'm still in T3. In co-op I can survive the match and do great, random, seems I'm the first targeted. Wiped out in minutes. I'm not going out solo, going with the pack. I can't even put camo on my ship yet, but all the other players on both sides are camo'd making me think I'm way out of my league yet in randoms. I got ships shooting at me from way out of my range. I got bombers bombing me that I've never seen before in co-op.

It seems like it's all the alpha beta testers in random, and the newbs open beta in co-op.

 

I can play hours in co-op, lots of fun, random, I want to quit the game. No fun dieing all the time without even getting a shot off.

What ever you feel is right. But use CO-OP  as training tool. Then move on to randoms.

Even later on, once you have started playing randoms, it can still be helpful to pop into Co-op when learning a new class of ship. Never played a slow lumbering BB with long reload times? Not sure how to handle the speed and maneuverability of a DD or maybe you're not quite sure how to employ your torpedoes effectively? Try a couple co-op battles in that new ship. Take if for a shake down cruise, get a feel for it, then when you are confident with your new ship, hop back into randoms and show off your new skills!

Bots prioritize based on HP. Meaning they usually target DDs and CAs first. They also don't tend to use AP very well, they don't really focus fire, they're for bashing, really. Players are the opposite. They usually target BBs, because they're easy to hit and slow. BBs aren't exactly the easiest ships for a beginner to just pick up and roll in. And the t3 BBs are not very good ships. 

 

Camo isn't really worth anything, don't worry about it.

Skilled high tier players are forced to play in lower tiers in order to make credits to fund high tier play.

 

If you see someone doing as well as half your team combined, watch how they play and take tips to improve. Assuming you don't get sick of getting clubbed like a baby seal.

Which is true. Some just have to come out and face the big guns if they want to get up the XP and cred.
