Catapult Sea Planes has no distance marker on them?!

Both Catapult Fighter and Observational aircrafts provides players normal spotting vision, but has no distance marker on the plane. You can't tell how far away they are from you until your "detected" warning goes off.

 

This has to be one of the most annoying thing second to airplanes spotting torpedoes from miles away.

I really hope its just a bug & range will show up in a later patch.

Because it'd be a really odd balancing choice.

People have been asking about this with zero comment by WG.  At this point it appears to be a crappy/frustrating design decision.

Probably too much overlay / FPS drops. Their stuff is horribly optimised.

I have commented on this a few times. As a USN destroyer player, I hate the lack of this feature.

 

At times, I even fail to see the scout aircraft's icon on the map or in the sky, until sometime after I am warned with situational awareness.
