Isn't exp given out based on how much damage you do to ships as well as sinks and hits? I don't understand how sinking a colorado, a bogue, and a murmansk while in a kongo would net me only 600 exp, if I did the same thing in a cruiser I would have gotten 800-1000. Any real explination for this?

You have to look in the detailed after action report and see how much damage you actually caused to those ships you sank. If they were all already on low health then you don't get much XP from sinking them in and of themselves. It's why a lot of folks don't freak out about kill stealing, if you were the one that did most of the damage to a target, then you'll get more XP then someone else who finished off that last thousand or so HP it had.

only the murmansk was low, the colorado was full health and only I got shells on him.

Yea Co-Op needs a little love.. I know some ppl that only play it due to pvp's toxic environment.

Yeah. Co-op gives on average about a third or less of everything that the pubs give, so a 600 exp game is actually a pretty decent game, but since its only 600 exp, its laughed at by the pubbies. The biggest drawback for co-op players comes in leveling up to new ships. what you can accomplish in a few days in the pubs can take weeks or even months in co-op. Will co-op get a little love?? I seriously doubt it. PVE is looked on with as much disdain by WG itself as it is by the majority of PVP players. But we hope..

Co-Op is all stock ships for the bots... look at the Kongo's initial HP pool and compare to yours...

 

Less HP's to damage = less XP to gain.

I quit playing coop because of the reduced XP rates and the fact that you cant practice playing your DD in there.

 

The AI is coded in such a way that when a DD is spotted they stop shooting at whatever it is they are shooting and only focus on YOU.....very problematic since AI only seems to shoot high explosives....

The AI is coded in such a way that when a DD is spotted they stop shooting at whatever it is they are shooting and only focus on YOU.....very problematic since AI only seems to shoot high explosives....

 

And they will ignore a ship on the cap, and shoot at you twice as far away, if given the choice.

Oh and the teamkiller bots that pretend they don't see you 1km away, when they are shooting at a target 8km away on the other side of an island.-At least that's a realistic approximation of how the average player in a random is.

Lower exp for co op.

 

Lower exp for killing stock ships that have lower survivability.

 

Lower exp for killing lower tier ships, and probably more common to be up against some lower tiers in co op.  Unless you are playing tier 2.
