Be there or be square!  Lookie folks.  20 minutes? No. Cap in 10, cap in 5.  Enough already.  I don't really understand it.  Maybe that is how some get enough points to keep playing, maybe they just want to survive.  But I want a NEW GAMEPLAY MODE=DEATH MATCH.

There are no bloody caps.  There are so many ships per side.  The one and only side that has a living ship or ships wins!  Very simple.  Way too many times I am doing well and cranking it up and hammering the enemy and I get: dead screen battle over.  This is a new choice.  End of battle is when all ships on one side are DEAD!  For people who are into caping for whatever reason, enjoy.  I just want to play until my ship is an X-Parrot (Monte Python) or all of their ships are bye bye.

Thank you Devs, thank you WG,

bo

Sounds like a great idea, until you get on of those matches where you steamroll the enemy team only to have a destroyer run away and draw the match.

What?

So are you saying no time limit and the match is over when one side has no ships?

I would like a strict death match. capping for me just doesnt fit with ship gameplay imho.

maybe wargaming can add a feature where the number of ships decide the type of victory: all ships killed = decisive victory; most ships killed = tactical victory etc? anyone catch my drift?

This is a good idea for many reasons.  and I believe it could solve most of the complaints about game modes.

The original poster, bodidlyharp, is suggesting a game mode which has no timer. The "death match" would last until one team's ships are all eliminated.

Yet the same problem remains: a lone surviving destroyer could run away and stay concealed, turning the battle into a frustrating indefinitely-long stalemate. The outcome of the match might not include the formal possibility of a draw, but a virtual draw might result, just the same.

This sounds like a way for bad players to disregard positioning.

Hey you know that cap you could have been sailing to, or could have been sailing on? That 12km circle of open space?

Yeah, how about you fight on it instead of avoiding it. It's just more open space that I'm sure your CA/BB absolutely loves.

And while I'm sailing on my cap I put out an engraved invitation to enemy ships to please come so I can shoot them?  Thank you enemy ships.  It is so nice of you to come.  Because I cannot leave and search for targets.

I defend my cap very well.  I think I usually cap when I am down to low low HP or the remaining enemy ship is not to be found.  Yes, there must be a time limit unless game is set to self destruct following a certain amount of inactivity (in case someone crashed).  I usually avoid my cap so my buds can get points until all enemy ships/points are gone.

OR how about a 'Withdraw' from battle option. After all most battles in WWII where NOT to the death. One side or the other decided they lost enough and ran away!

my idea of fun is not hunting a destroyer for 10 mins, losing him, and 5 minutes later, finding him again. I understand that one or two players could get more experience without a time limit, but games could last 30 minutes or more. You'd get more experience and credits with the time limit implemented, which means you'd get to play more games.
