CV balance is critical

CV balance in this game is critical.  2v1 CV's in so many games ends up 2v0 CVs since in the opening minutes of a game the 1 CV is either taken out by the enemy CV's or completely locked down by the extra fighters.

1v2 CV games are actually often much worse than 1v0 games - since the result is often as if MM just placed 2 CV's on 1 side.  I hope more petition for this change, and quick!

I realize a good smart CV will stay close to the formation of Cruisers and battleships for AA cover, but even that ends up to be problematic when the enemy starts to focus their artillery fire first on the CV.

Some games it is an issue I will give you that. But in some other games I have been in it was actually worse for them and or an even game since we had an extra 2 BBs or Cruisers. And why in bleepity bleep would a CV CHARGE! with the rest of the forces. That's just *GRRRR*

Edit: Keep at least one ship that can help the CV in the back of the forces at all times, He/She is bound to get a kill that way anyways since some people flank across the entire map.

I agree that 2v1 is worse than 1v0 for carriers.  That solo carrier is going to be prime target for the other 2.  Once he's down, their team receives fewer air based attacks and the enemy team has less air cover.  Now those 2 carriers can go hog wild on the remaining ships.

Matching carriers and tier should be mandatory for MM.

I'll give you the secret to winning all the times the MM has dictated you're going to get crushed without actually having an ability to do anything useful. Just quit and go grab another ship. Don't waste 10 minutes fighting to live and wasting your time, just point at the most distant corner, launch your fighters on protect and then leave the game. The enemy CVs will spend more time trying to hunt your random ship than they would if you were trying, and you're not going to do anything useful that match anyway.

And who knows, after a few weeks of more people doing that, maybe WG will get to change it. Be a trend setter!

No. Please do not sit back with CVs. My first reaction as a CV driver when matched in a 2v1 situation was to pick the biggest blob of cruisers and sail with them. Past tier 6 you'll have the speed to keep up with them. Actually I play CVs very aggressive in general, but sitting in the back next to motionless CVs behind the cap point is just a waste of a ship.

Banned for what? Not sitting there and taking it? Are you telling me I have to slowly fly my planes into the fighters to die and then die to torpedoes? Because if that's the case then amend the suggest to just point at the middle and log out.

Either that, or let's balance it out. Any Tier N ship is completely impervious to any fire from Tier N-1. Doesn't matter if it's HE, AP or whatever. Completely immune to all damage. That's what CV play is like. Let's provide some consistency. Why don't you try a game like that? You can't shoot any ship that's higher tier than you.  Just suck their damage. Tell me how that goes. Goodness knows you have 10x the cruiser games than you do carrier games.

I agree that the CV shouldn't stay put in the higher tiers, the lower tiers though (at least in the games i have been in) people leave the CVs alone since mostly everyone's sunk near the middle of the map at the beginnings anyway. Lower tiers have complained in chat that there always left alone in with the CV only when people said "you need support or no" and the CVs that sit there thinking NOPE! I BE FINE!  They get mad when no one helps. Its like dude, you said you didn't want help so why give it now that I am allllllll the way across the map huh?

I do say though, CVs that move up often with a DD and cruiser wreck peeps. Thing is no one usually help out the CV and instead are like "why u charge you derp of a carrier" seriously lol make up your minds people help the CV or die. What ones more preferable. I choose latter.

Do not take the "ALL people" seriously poi. Not everyone does, just a lot that I have seen. Trying not to offend the CV players here since I need them to love my BB so I can haz Poi supportz.

Intently AFK is a ban-able offensive in WoT, so I assume it is in WoWS. Regardless how you feel about the match up, you pressed the battle button.

Im not a fan of people who back out of games, but it is true - who wants to sit for 10+ min in a game like that?   I've been in a CV where all my planes were locked down by enemy fighters due to 2v1 games - and I had a floating island I could no nothing with.  Unlike a low tier BB/Cruiser or DD, a CV has no effective offensive weapons beyond its planes.

I suppose you could just launch your planes until they are all dead, then back-out of the game.....since a CV with no planes is completely worthless.

I head towards a cap or try to ram when I lose all my planes. At least try to help your team.

in this case just stick with cruisers, anything beyond T6 has enough speed to catch up with cruisers, communicate with them and figure out a solution to at least stay alive and reserve your bombers for more critical moments. the enemy fighters will be running out if they use them as a protection for bombers to suck part of the AA fires. a incomplete squad of 1 tier higher CV fighters(assuming its the same nation) will not be able to beat your full squad fighter. Then your bomber can be put into combat safer.

Right now the player quality imbalance is a bigger issue then the loadouts.    That is not to say that it isn't an issue.

You come away from some of these battles shaking your head and saying how can players be so bad.  I've dialed my play back quite a bit and my premium comes due in 5d's.    It's pretty bad right now it needs a fix.

You have no real choice come Tier 8 and above. Your concealment really goes to the gutter and the requirement to take a more 'backseat' approach to carrier rears it's ugly head.

Don't get me wrong, like you I am also an aggressive CV but you simply light up the moment a plane gets to within 14KM of you, which is pretty significant.

I think this is a game killer for me.  Games where one team has a carrier and the other doesn't are happening more frequently and it just is not fun to be on the other side of that, especially when you're trying to level a Japanese battleship.  I've even seen a couple 2 carriers to 0 on my side.  I pretty much don't care about games where I'm on a team with no carriers, for it's not going to be fun and just wait to die.

I wish they would prevent unbalanced carrier match ups, at least never put a team with a carrier (or two) against a team without one.  1v0, 2v1 and 2v0 are just not fun at all.

I've never seen 2 carriers to 0 by MM...but maybe it exists..?

However, 2v1 carrier ends up to be 2v0 in short order most times.  If those carriers know what they are doing, the game is typically over unless a miracle occurs (which do happen).  I've seen many players simply leave the game, and that trend is alarming.  I hope WG does fix this ASAP, especially since it seems so easy to fix.

Teams with 1 CV and other 0 or 2v1  can still be won easy if your team works together.  This is very much so true at the mid tiers of T6-T8 for example.

A cruiser can cripple a bomber run on a BB if he supports him in the above tiers.

Sadly, Tier 4-5 doesn't have much AA.

Worse case, i have seen a CV Capt move his ship with the fleet as AA cover and the funny thing is it worked.

I just send my CV into the middle of the map to suicide.  Sometimes I'll even torp kill myself because it's faster.  Because no one has confirmed to me yet that there are penalties for quitting before your ship is destroyed like there is in WoT.

If you tell people in game you're doing it out of rebellion for the broken MM, people will report you and call you names.  Just do it and not say anything.  Just claim it was an accident, you hit the wrong key or something.  No one will report you even though some on here after I say this of course will say they will but they won't.  Psychology is funny that way.  I have a life that takes up enough of my time that I don't have time in this game to mess around with matches that are broken before they start.  And the more WG is going to ignore the justified voices the playerbase has about MM, be it WoT or WoWs, then we have to take it upon ourselves to punish WG for it by kingmaking or other tactics, which will make even more people speak up and eventually walk with their dollars.

I boycott spending money on this game.  I play both tanks and this without ever putting a dime in it.  And WG will never see a dime from me until they fix MM.  And I'm not alone, there are thousands of players that have decided not to invest at all or any more until MM is fixed.

Also, when people do other stuff like a T5 platooning with a T1, just torp the T5.  Don't kill them, just hit them enough for them to exercise that little muscle on their brain that's supposed to go off when they are doing something inappropriate.  You know, give them the spanking their father clearly never did.  If the game isn't going to put in the proper code to MM (which as many have mentioned is so easy a first year computer programmer could do it) or the proper punishments to curb poor behavior, we need to take responsibility as a player base to do it.  We need to police our own.

It takes a village.

2 vs 1 can be messy both ways. Ive been in a tier 7,8,9 battle with 2 hiryu's up against one hiryu and the 2 CV team lost badly. The insane amount of AA prevented any approach other than border hugging. 2 cruiser divisions pretty much dominated the AA defence, alternating their barrage ability. None of the CV's got much attack, I had one torp hit, and 2 of them were strike CV's and I was 2/2/2.

Yeah, most complaints about CVs being the deciding factors in games comes from T5 and below. AA gets better past tier 5 (yes I don't have a T6 yet, but if my bogue gets in a T6 or 7 game I flat out can't bomb anything).

I think the biggest mistake people make is thinking that AA = shields.

lemming trains solve the CV issue

Lemming trains do, but its more proof of a playstyle evolved from how powerful CVs are.  I'm glad you yourself said this because RU playstyle meta is also an example of this.  Pretty self-explanatory, but I'll leave this statement right here...

When the entire team has to work together to counter a single player on the other team, its not balanced.  A single, powerful ship with the ability to disrupt the entire team, name one other class that can do it as well for me please or that can pull stats and a W/R as good as top CV players, without the help of a CV to begin with.  Lemming trains are a bad idea in game modes like domination to begin with.

"Lemming trains" are better against EVERYTHING, not just CVs. It's not a tactic to combat CVs, it's a tactic to combat the enemy. Focused fire is just flat out better than not focused fire. More focused fire is better than less focused fire. You act like the only benefit of "lemming trains" is AA cover.

No, its really not better for everything.  If the train moves in the opposite direction of the enemy team that does the same thing, they just end up capping each other with a bit of running back to base for the few who want to try and let the team win.  Its also bad for domination.  The list goes on.  If you believe that's the best option all the time, you need to take a long, hard stare at yourself and realize you have much to learn about playing objectives and holding flanks.

You also haven't even made it past T5 yet.  When you get to T8+ and try to only lemming train, let me know how that works out for you for game modes like Domination.  At high tiers, lemming train's primary benefit is the AA cover with focus firing being a secondary concern.  But you wouldn't know that would you.

At least you tried to attack my argument in this thread. I'll explain what I mean by "lemming train". When lemming train is in quotes, you can read that as battle group. I understand that an actual lemming train is a bad thing. If you read the forums though, the definition of lemming train seems different. If you break your team down into 2 battle groups, and then actually work together in those battle groups, you will dominate. Of course a battle group that just goes in reverse and never shoots is useless, but that's not because they are in a battle group. It's because the battle group acted  stupidly. Obviously you still have to play properly, but assuming everyone in the group is at least competent, you're better off together that separately.
