Strange auto torpedo drop

Hello. I was playing Japanese CV today and saw a weird auto torpedo drop. 

I asked to my clanmates about this and they also told me that they saw this kind of torpedo drops. However I can`t reproduce this on purpose later on. I wasn`t sure that this is bug or not, so I`m asking at this forum. Is this normal? Cause this kind of torpedo drop mess up the strike that I intended. By the way there was no anti-air skill from enemy CA, and no enemy fighter disturbance.

That's a really nice compass you got there.

That aside, this torp drop occurs if the target is turning sharply while the torp bombers are dropping their torpedoes at a sharp entry angle.

The auto-torp bomber mechanism will try to do last-second corrections to the course of each torp bomber while the target is manuevering, which can result in overlapping and crossing of torpedo paths.
